taylor swift has a song for everything. got dumped? yep. fell in love? theres one for that. moved into a house with a lucrative history involving a rich woman that was blamed for her husbands death? theres one for that too

taylor has quite literally NEVER done anything like this before and i think it just proves that she’s making music to make music, not for anyone’s approval, not for ratings, not for the recognition, she’s just like “here i’m proud of this, take it” AND I’M HERE FOR IT

I love how Taylor wrote a song about the story of her RI house.

folklore feels like you just found an old collection of letters tied up with ribbon, in a box in someone’s attic and you wipe off the dust and sit down right there to carefully flip through them and you get a glimpse into the world of whoever wrote them

I really don’t see this as an era. This is a moment in time. Folklore is so far removed from everything she’s ever done in the best way. I don’t see there being singles, I don’t see her touring it. It was her writing because she loves to write. It’s her telling stories because she’s a storyteller, and she wanted to do it in a new, imaginative way. She shared these stories with us not for sales or charting or awards, but because, as she said, when you write, you can change your words into your legacy, and that’s really what folklore is. Stories passed down from generation to generation to form a legacy.

Taylor, I have been going through a lot lately. This album couldn’t have come at a better time. You’re always there when I need you most!
