A6-392 : All things end. [PART3]

Hello Infinity Earthers. It’s Yu here.🤖 Looks like this will be my last update on the struggles of the A6-392 rat alley. They’re gone, all of em. When I arrived this morning to check in on them, not a single one was in sight. In its place, an extermination company truck and two men in matching uniforms. One sweeping, and one hosing down the alleyway. The pub and bookshop must have caught wind of the commotion and decided to handle it. To be honest I’m a little relieved to be spared from the horrors that had probably occurred here overnight between the warring factions. I wonder if the little rodents even knew what they were fighting over anymore. Nysa finds this outcome somewhat amusing. Her humor is a bit dark at times I’ll admit. It is notable though. All their battling over territory and status. The real threat was actually just one extermination truck away.

I stopped and watched the gentlemen work for a bit. As the sweeping man emptied his pan into the dustbin, the king's hats fell into the bin one silly piece at a time. The queen's wardrobe of colored lights had run out of batteries. The once royal accessories now just everyday trash to everyone else on this Earthlike. I suppose there is a lesson to be learned here. Is the lesson for me though?

The place on the corner here has a good seafood pasta dish. Nysa and I had a nice lunch and mostly sat in silence. Finally, I had enough of being alone in my own internal monologues. I asked Nysa what she thought would have happened if we had done something to save those rats from themselves. She admitted she had no idea. She reminded me that blatant manipulation of these Earthlikes for our own purpose is what the agents do. That comparison is beyond offensive to my sensibilities.

All this deep conversation was paired with buttery fire-roasted smells in the air. The aroma filled the restaurant and our imaginations with whatever amazing alchemy was being performed in the kitchen. I absolutely destroyed my creamy pasta dish and sat back in my chair completely satisfied. Nysa had sweet-talked the attendant into getting us an amazing table looking over the bay. It’s a beautiful day for many today. The view was a little wasted on me. I had a hard time feeling inspired after learning the fate of my little friends.

Tomorrow we’ll move on to the next location in Nysa’s list. There are some mythical tablets we’re trying to get our hands on. The Creator of this universe has left a mark on every one of these Earthlikes. One of these days we’ll find the Infinity Earth. When we do, I’m going to ask directly. What is this game?

A6-392: The battle scavengers. [PART 2]

Good morning Infinity Earthers! It’s Yu! 🤖Well trouble is a brewin’ in the rats’ alley. The scraps have escalated into full-on war. Nysa and I have begun the age-old debate around intervention. It’s not our place to step in here, we've concluded per usual, no matter how cute they are. The locals don’t seem to give two shits about this either. It must happen often with these furry little divas😞😞😞Still I can’t help but feel like I should step in and do something.

Their whole society has broken down at such a fast pace. King Michael 👑 is so fixated on revenge that he’s neglecting the rest of the pack. Across the alley is where the King’s pack would get nesting supplies from the bookshop. Since the war, they’ve had no ability to expand their nests. The younglings are cold and packing a dozen or more per nest. It’s completely unsanitary. Anyone large enough to hold a sword is sent to the front lines.

Queen Madonna 👑 is unfortunately not much different. The nerve of the King not reacting gracefully to what was clearly an accident. Much of the food her pack relied on came from the pub. Since the “incident” The trade routes are blocked, and so is the Queen's access to food. The younglings are starving and the pack’s rage is building steadily. Anyone large enough to hold a spear is sent to the front lines.

The battles have been brutal.

Nysa and I have watched this exact scenario play out so many times over the last thousand years. It seems that any species with an advanced sense of self-worth will inevitably go down this path. We’re all cursed to learn from our past in such agonizingly slow fashion. I guess I’ll give them another day to figure it out.

A6-392: Curious scavengers [PART 1]

Hello! Infinity Earthers! It’s Yu!🤖 If you’ve come across this travel log then welcome! I leave a written copy on every Earthlike I visit. It will probably come off as fucking lunacy to most of you. To that I say, just go with it.🤣 We’re here in A6-392 and we may stay a while! It’s beautiful here, and I’ve yet to encounter any agent activity which is also a plus! Our search for the Infinity Earth continues, and I sometimes wonder if we’ll ever find it. Something, something, finding friends or something…🤪

Today I’m in a bustling seaport town on the west side. We’ve come to get supplies for our next journey into deep space. The people here are the rough around the edges type, and everyone expects you to haggle. I’m total shit at haggling. Nysa thinks I overpay for everything. Nysa is right, she always is... This post is not about haggling though. I want to highlight a curious little rodent-like creature that has captured my imagination for the past 10 days.

The locals just call em rats, but I’ve never seen rats like these before.🤔 Some find them to be a nuisance. Others seem to live alongside them in fairly harmonious ways. I fucking love them 😭😭😭! Nyssa finds them to be cute in the traditional sense, but she’s hard to impress. I’ve been completely sidetracked by the adventures of these little creatures which I’ll try to describe entertainingly.

The mouse-bear rodents stand at roughly 20 cm and come in various colors. The first pack that I’ve been observing is a blue-ish-grey variety, sometimes with white spots. The main trait that I want to discuss however is their need to accessorize with rubbish and other items they find around town. There is a whole class system based on how ornate each one can adorn themselves over time.✨✨✨

They don’t seem to have a vocal language, but they do communicate through a series of taps and grunts. The drama is so real!🤣🤣🤣 First I’ll introduce you to this one majestic fellow I’m calling King Michael.👑 He’s the top dog here right now. The pack lives in an alleyway under a pub. This dive serves a mead-like beverage which gave me diarrhea for three days. A story for a different never… 😑😑😑

King Michael👑 wears a cloth that looks like a part of a blouse. It’s a dirty lace kind of thing with a hole chewed through the center. The king has poked his head through the tight opening and his fur spills out over the top of it. On his head, he wears a crown of 6 layers! It’s made of various items such as an old board game token, a silver coin, the wrapper box to some kind of candy, etc.

Across the ally under the bookshop lives the second pack. These rats are of a light red and black variety with similar fashion sense. Queen Madonna 👑Is an elegant sight draped in some kind of battery-powered string of LEDs. Her crown consists of a children’s fidget toy and some tattered cloth she wears like a veil.

The two factions had co-existed peacefully for the most part, until one fateful evening! While on their regular patrols for food and bits of flair. Queen Madonna👑 had slipped on a wet rock and fallen onto King Michael himself! This perceived act of aggression had knocked off three layers of the King’s crown causing quite a controversy. Was the queen attempting a power play to become the new top rat of the alley?

The two groups now spend the majority of their days knocking accessories off of each other in passive-aggressive ways, and it’s hilarious. 🤣🤣🤣So far the packs have not become violent, but I’ll be watching carefully over the next few days. Nyssa thinks it’s only a matter of time before they start killing each other. I’d like to think they could still work out their differences…

I guess I won’t hold my breath.
