I literally yearn so much for the beta dialogue, mostly because of gary/jimmy dialogue that we literally never get to hear without digging in the files. their banter? hellloooo. raises my eyebrow. ranting below
jimmy briefly residing in gary? like he even sounds somewhat spiteful but still, nonetheless, resigned and he's bothering to open himself up a little bit when jimmy is noticeably closed off and somewhat withdrawn from his emotions? im stretching it but please.
the way gary says this line in the files drives me bonkers. like in the cut voicelines he doesnt have nearly as half as the malice as he does in the ones ingame, its literally so much more softer than his usual tone of voice.
id watch thenathanns cut content "welcome to bullworth + this is your school" because it pieces together dialogue but it genuinely makes me so crazy just how friendlier they seemed in the beta. i think they were a little unconventional, but with jimmys "i thought we were friends" line in the hole, it gives the statement much more material because it actually could appear that they were at least on good terms what with how gary literally serves as jimmy's guide throughout the tutorial part of the game.
not a cut voiceline, just one from shoving gary but oohhmygod why would he say this. why would you say that. if you listen to it his voice also lilts a bit when he says like me and it's genuinely fucking insane. theres another voice line that i can't find on the wiki but i'm on the fanon wiki so that makes sense, but when leaving, he'll say "bye, jimmy. try not to miss me too much" dude just shoot your shot already. im so sick
this also goes unused i know it's just teasing but gah!! they are so obnoxious to me why are you two like this. they genuinely took a lot of voicelines out for jimmy because initially he was much more chatty and snarky which sucks because i do still think that characterization fits him. i also somewhat like this aspect of his beta personality because i feel like it pairs him well with beta gary.
i have so much more to say but there were so many smopkins crumbs littered throughout their dialogue, i literally view it as gary genuinely liked jimmy but was too stuck in his head to pursue the friendship because it meant he would have to see jimmy as an equal, unlike petey who he could push around with no consequences. whaaateeveerrr
