Maopai stared down at the paper for a long moment. The monstercouldn’t really form a proper response. At least, not verbally. She delicatelyfolded up the paper and tucked it into her pocket. She’d be keeping that.

She took a few steps over to Marty before hugging him.

Napstablook pouted some at Maopai’s reaction. That wasn’t at all what they wanted to hear; it was probably the opposite, in fact.

They blinked away their already forming tears before responding. “Oh no…. no, it’s fine…You didn’t do anything wrong, really. I’m just sensitive is all… Me lashing out like that was super rude… I’m sorry.”

Maopai’s ears were quick to fold back against her head. She didn’t intend to overstep a boundary...a paw came up to rub her shoulder.

There went her speech quirk.

1- Hardly able to defend oneself, highly unlikely to take violent action.

2- Capable of defending oneself at most. Fairly unlikely to attack anyone else.

“huh, wow. i know some monsters that live over in that area. i guess your fur’s not that thick for you to keep you warm huh?” he asked. “but it’s a good choice. waterfall is pretty and it almost seems like you’re gazing at the stars everyday.”

{{ L }} “Yeah, I’m a lucky one…I guess. Sorta sucks that monsters are trapped down here, they inhabit the Earth like humans so they should be able to explore it to the fullest.” Then again Leif didn’t know why they were trapped in first place.

Hearing Maopai mentions her lab has captured Tyree’s interest, spreading a devious grin.

“HOLY CRAP! You have a lab?! Can you do me a solid and make me smoke bombs? I’ll get you the materials and everything! Make me smoke bombs and cool gadgets please!”

Why on earth would he need smoke bombs? She could definitely make those and then some, but why?

“YES! I WILL ALWAYS BE THERE FOR HER. I CERTAINLY WISH SHE’D TELL ME MORE. THOUGH I’LL PROVIDE THE SUPPORT FOR HER ANY TIME.”

He smiles brightly to the canine. He watched her rock on her heels.

“SORRY IF I HAD BROUGHT DOWN THE MOOD.”
