Finally finished! I started this drawing months ago, but I just couldn’t find the time or motivation to finish it 😭 I imagined a new design of Grimaldus by blending his official appearance, his look in Richard Boylan’s Helsreach fan film, and a few Primaris armour elements. I wanted to get as close as possible to a 3D render, so I tried to depict him as if he were a miniature 🖌️

I wanted to create a drawing that would look as close to 3D as possible, so I went with the idea of a miniature😁 I tried a redesign of Merek Grimaldus, inspired by his official miniature, his design in Richard Boylan’s fan film, and elements of Primaris armor. I’m going to try to color it as if it had been “painted.”

I was digging into the W40k lore and realized that there’s no official depiction (or really any depiction at all) of the Thrix. So here’s my interpretation, I imagine them with features reminiscent of birds of prey, covered in sharp, keratinous feathers.
