Both cards can simbolize change, the end of a cycle that paves the way for something new. But what are the differences?

Tower (XVI)

It tells about a fast and destabilizing change, something rather external. A violent crisis is going to come, an instant destruction often caused by external circumstances.

The card remembers the myth of the Tower of Babel, where God's intervention destroyed the arrogance of man, who believes he can reach divine knowledge. in this way it is seen as a sudden revelation that shakes the consultant. That brings clarity and liberation, but with also turbulence and chaos.

Death the "Card with no Name" (XIII)

The card evokes a natural and deep transition. It is internal and inevitable. Death is a gradual process, one that starts internally and is intrinsecally related to the nature of things.

The usual depiction is of a Grim Reaper, while the name is often omitted (in part for the superstition that just pronouncing the word would attract death). However please avoid interpreting this card as a mere literal reflection of physical death, as it relates more to a transformation, a change.

Tower = Instinctive and destructive change, external event, chaos, shock, crisis, destruction and immediate awakening

Death = Gradual inevitable transformation, internal process and natural developement, renewal, end of a cycle of life.
