Happy #nationalnursesday to all my nursing friends and family. This is a profession I couldn’t be more proud to be a part of. I didn’t want to be a nurse growing up, but now as an adult I can’t think of anything I would rather do. There’s something so humbling about being there for people during difficult and challenging moments and knowing that you can help and bring comfort. My husband and I are not super spontaneous people by most standards and the events of the last 24 hours are still hard for us to wrap our heads around. But nonetheless we have accepted crisis travel jobs at NYU starting 2nd week in April. We are both nervous and excited but mostly looking to help however we can. Today was my last day in the ER before we leave. I couldn’t have asked for better coworkers, providers and bosses. I love this job and I love these people, so glad this isn’t goodbye but just see you later.
