i really hate the Viz official translation i think it stinks bad (second one). they just completely stripped the sauce out of it. there are a bunch more examples but i really think this has damaged the potential of oneof the greatest manga of all time in the west because they took out all the chan references (which i believe are present in the original japanese!) and replaced them with millennial redditor crap. its a very fine distinction but it means everything

even the english cadence and rhythm of the Viz version is worse

Fat Handsome Brother is not a goofy printer-carrying discord moderator he is a dignified and melancholy digital anchorite. the difference is important. this man does NOT speak with an exclamation point in that way

apparently the translator, John Werry, is so widely-hated there have been multiple petitions to fire him, and not even for Dead Dead Demons specifically

i started reading it yesterday and felt insane bc the dialog can be so disjointed and borderline incomprehensible at times. no one talks like humans and it makes the more wild characters pretty annoying

max i will not entertain this fandombrained powerscaling foolishness from you. the fact that you would even ask is offensive. it's the samurai by such a wide margin that your asking beggars belief
