thomas saw a woman come out of the building, blonde, quite stunning. she gives him a wave and he waves carefully back. he watches as she places the bag in the backseat and then sit down next to him. "hey." he simply said as he took in her energy, as first impressions went this was pretty good. "i'm thomas." he said holding out his hand for her to take. "yeah, of course. my pleasure." he said with a little nod. "i appreciate it that." she was thoughtful that was a good thing, maybe his worries had been unwarranted. "well, there's no use in prolonging anything. let's get this show on the road." an extremely cliche thing, but he hadn't really built a rapport with kaitlin yet. he pulled away and started their long journey. "what do you do kaitlin?" he asked her, thinking it was a good idea to get to know her.

she found herself smiling as she reached out to shake his hand. "i'm more of a hugger." she joked, "its nice to meet you, thomas." her hand lingered a little longer before taking it back and resting it on her lap. the bride was right - kaitlin found him attractive, it only made her think about how this little trip would unravel. her eyes focused on her road before the question allowed her eyes to trail back to him. "i am an interior designer assistant, practically a glorified secretary but sometimes they let me make big design decisions." she answered avoiding a dull answer. the last thing she wanted was to bore him on the long drive. "also a dog walker, occasional baker and i do love a road trip. what about you?"

thomas didn't love the idea of having to share his car with a stranger for the next few days. the groom, his childhood best friend had assured him that it would be fine and he wouldn't have suggested the road trip if he didn't think he would get along with the person he was driving with. thomas hadn't heard much other that they had a drivers license so they could also drive and he had been given a name and an address, but since thomas wasn't on social media he hadn't searched them up. thomas pulled up to the address five minutes before they had agreed upon. he hated being late, made him anxious. so he sat in the car, listening to the radio waiting for the person he would spend his next days on the road with.

when kaitlin heard the news she almost didn't want to believe it. after a quick chat with the bride, she knew there wasn't much of an option but she was easily swayed after her glowing review of thomas. when she stepped accompanied by a carry-on bag, she's surprised to see the car already parked and instantly gave them a little wave before. placed her bag on the backseat and joined him in the passenger seat. "hi, i'm kaitlin," she greeted with a charming smile settling in, "i appreciate you letting me tag along." she smoothed the fabric of her sundress and buckled her seatbelt. "i also brought some snacks and water for the ride, you know, just in case."

gone to bed early, wiped out from his day at work, luca didn't expect to wake up again until the sun shone through his windows. so when the door to his room, the door he forgot to lock, opens, and all he can see is a blurry figure standing there, he can't help but groan as he picks his head up. "can i help you?" voice fogged with sleep, his head hits the pillow again and he tries to close his eyes to escape the light flooding his space.

kaitlin slowly closes the door behind her as she slips into the room. a shy laugh escapes her tinted lips as she approaches the figure in bed. she knows she shouldn't be here but her mind was too occupied by many thoughts that led back to him. "we didn't get a chance to chat." the first thing pops up leaves her lips. despite the shyness building within her she pulls the blanket open and lays next to him. "luca ... i just need company."
