Calling Wrong Numbers

So I though day one of the experiment was over, but I was wrong, I had one of the voice mail numbers call me back! This made me so happy!

So yeah, I got to speak with a very nice lady, Deloris, who told me she was 45.  When I mentioned the movie she said " Are you Serious" almost in a sharp tone, I thought for a second she was mad and going to yell at me or something but turned out she was just a little shocked, haha. I said "Um yes, Patch Adams, Have you seen it? It's a Robin Williams movie". I explained a little about what I was doing and she thought it was quite funny. So after a shaky start she was quite pleasant and even invited me to call her back again... who knows, maybe I will :)

So during our little conversation I asked her what made her call me back, was it curiosity? She said yeah a little and some people have her number but she didn't have them saved yet. I told her I was thinking about how everyone seems to be in their own world now a days, plugged into technology and what would a random phone call do? Is it similar to how a real piece of mail can make you happy?

Well she did seem happy to have something out of the ordinary happen. I hope she goes to work tomorrow and says "Guess what happened to me last night, some stranger called just to talk! Isn't that weird! I don't even know who it was." 

Ok, so I'm so excited about this and I cant wait to see what happens. I am very optimistic, as I am about a lot of things... probably too many things. Oh well, good to have a take on the world attitude, right!?   

Well I started out by calling numbers with no sort of organization. I think I will probably have to keep some sort of log of numbers I have tried but for now its just a peck at numbers till its starts to ring type approach :)

I didn't want to interrupter people at work so I tried around 5:30 or so. 

Try 1:  out of service :(

Try 2:  Voicemail …didn’t leave one bc I got nervous haha

Try 3-6: Not much luck, some out of service some voicemail and still too nervous to leave messages

Well lets wait a bit, maybe people are all busy eating dinner or what not. 

Ok trying again around 6:30 maybe people will be home and a bit more settled...

Try 1-7: No luck, lots of loud beeps in my ear

Someone Answered! Yay!... A very nice sounding gentle man answered his phone. I will act like he is in his late 20's (I don't really know but that is what I imagine) I told him a bit about how I was sick all day and watching Patch Adams, he seemed to think it was an interesting idea but not to inclined to talking to me about it. He had a bit of a nervous chuckle. I think it makes people uneasy to talk to someone they aren't ready to talk to.
