The older I get, the more I realize being in a hurry is a terrible way to live your life.

If I’m on tumblr in the morning and saying too much you KNOW my meds are kicking in

#this is how I figured out yday that I accidentally took 300mg of iron instead of my meds #which was 600mg in 8 hours. my poor tummy

In some ways I loved being a barista in specialty coffee and going to London coffee festival for work etc but. It was also the worst. It was so hard and hospitality bosses are always horrid.

And I have to say, people actually find me interesting now when I tell them what I do/where I work. Even though the job itself is pretty dull but the environment is cool! And it just feels really good to be legitimised. People don’t brush me off anymore or ask me what I’m actually working on or if I’m studying because it’s finally a “proper” job. And it’s awful it’s seen that way but it certainly provides a lot of relief and eases anxiety when speaking to new people. It’s nice not to be dismissed anymore

#remember the first time me and Clara hung out and we went to a party #a uni party #and everyone would ask me what I study #but they’d greet me with #“oh i study architecture what about you?#and I’d have to say I wasn’t in university but I’m studying film production #and they’d walk off #because lack of uni was too below them #it happened several times in one night!#I’ve also had people walk off when I say where in London I’m from #my favourite compliment is still from older highly educated people who are surprised I didn’t go to uni because I’m clearly intelligent #and hold conversations on complex topics rather well. contribute with confidence. clearly write well most of the time #and I’m also out here earning more than a lot of my graduate friends #excluding obvs my friend at universal and my corporate accountant friend #maybe there’s a few others. my friend circles are changing away from coffee tbf.#but hey I used what would’ve gone on uni fees to buy a flat. so I’m doing good!!#even if the market is crashing and it’s losing value but we don’t talk abt that. one day I’ll afford to move away
