THE WORLD OF THE SIMS (2) IS A SIMULATION. their universe's existence starts at the disappearance and abduction of bella goth; any events prior to this solely exist as memories, not having actually happened in their world.

bella goth's existence/disappearance is crucial to the simulation. however, bella herself is 'bugged'. bella both exists and does not exist at the same time. upon being 'abducted', she has meshed between their world and the fabric of their world. she is the thing that keeps it all together and yet simultaneously tears it apart due to her 'bugged' nature.

bella cannot interact with the world like other sims, and should she try, will likely end up 'corrupting' the sims and world around her.

'corruption' is a natural flaw of the simulation, which means that to some extent, corruption is inevitable. this usually applies to smaller forms of corruption rather than larger ones. memories may be altered or otherwise bugged, but this form of corruption is surface-level and non-threatening. larger forms of corruption result in sims and even buildings disappearing.
