Oh, I know you love me. You’re, like, the worst at hiding when you love someone. Worse than Loki, actually, which is really saying something. Exhibit A, you always stand between me and the street, because you know I have an irrational fear of automobiles. And you know that, not because anyone has ever told you, but because you pay attention to the little things. Exhibit B, whenever we’re in a room with other people, you stand at my back because you hate being in a crowd while you’re sober, and you trust me. Exhibit C, you almost killed that cop the other day when he tried to feel me up. Exhibit D, you do everything I ask you, even when you think it’s stupid or degrading.

I know that all three of us are to blame for what happened, I really do, and I know that Amy and I weren’t working – we hadn’t been working for a while before you came home, but we clung to the threads we had left because we were in love, and we had to try. Maybe Eden was right, Amy probably is better off without me, and I’m beyond happy with having just you, but that doesn’t make the fact that she can’t even look at me suck any less.

No, the fact that she wasn’t wrong is what matters. We all ruined what we had, but we’re expecting Amy to fix it all. I haven’t tried to reach out to Amy, and you haven’t, either. You haven’t shown up at her place, or called her, either. And everyone has shut her out. That is what matters. We all want things to be magically better, but we don’t want to try.
