As a witch we celebrate new yearâs eve with rituals for manifestation and setting intentions for the new year. Want to do it but donât know how to? here a few things you can do
⢠Ritual Baths: Ritual baths is a good way to wash away past yearâs negativity, you can use things such as, herbs, salt and essential oils.
⢠Smoke cleansing: You can clear old energy by smudging your home by using sage, rosemary or even cinnamon.
⢠Release Rituals: you can always write down what you want to release, even if its negative energy on a piece of paper, burning it then scattering the ashes.
⢠Opening doors: You can always open doors and windows and do a banishing spell to release any negative spirit in your home and can always new good ones.
Manifestation and setting intentions
â˘Vision boards or even journals: you can always write your intentions down and goals into a journal book to set your intentions for next year. If you donât want to do that, you can always create a visual board for your goals too!
â˘Candle spells/magick: You can always use white candles for cleansing, and using green for abundance. If you really want to PUSH your intentions out there use a yellow/gold candle. That will help your manifestation and intentions to manifest even more.
â˘Manifestation jars: You can always fill your jars with things what are symbolic to you, such as items (e.g coins or even herbs) and seal them for the year.
Divination and Guidance
⢠Tarots: Can always do a tarot reading and do a Year Prediction to help you know what you are getting yourself into for next year
â˘Runes: Pull out runes for insight for the upcoming year.
Classic Tradition
⢠Eat food: did you know you can have lucky food to help your year to go good? eat 12 grapes for prosperity, if you donât like that, just eating food with the family, and cooking while setting your intentions is a good way to go into the upcoming year.
⢠Shadow work: reflect on lessons from past experiences
As the new year is coming up I hope all my witches have a good new year and everything you manifested and set intentions for comes true. Hope nothing but good luck, and blessing for all of you. đ

đŻď¸ How To Use a Single Candle for a Thousand Spells
Let me tell you something they donât always say in the glittery TikTok witch corners, you donât need a candle for every mood, every moon, every color-coded correspondence chart. You donât need twenty-seven jars of herbs and a wand carved from wood kissed by a fae prince.
Sometimes? You just need one candle.
One flame. One little fire spirit.
Thatâs it. Thatâs the whole altar.
I used to think I needed a different candle for every type of spell. White for clarity. Black for banishing. Green for money. Red for passion. And so on and so forth until I had a hoarderâs drawer full of half-burned wax orphans and a heart that still felt stuck.
But then one night, I had only one candle left, a simple tea light. No color. No scent. Just a stub of fire and a deep need.
And what do you know? The spell worked anyway.
đż The Candle Itself Doesnât Make the Spell, You Do
This is rule number one and itâs tattooed on the inside of my ribcage (okay, metaphorically):
Your intention is the fuel. The candle is the match.
Yes, colors and scents can boost things, sure. But donât let that trick you into thinking your power is limited to your supplies. Itâs not. It never was.
One humble candle is a portal, a torch, a mirror, if you treat it like one.
đŽCleanse It, Claim It, Charge It
Whatever candle you have, tea light, birthday candle, old emergency taper from the back of your junk drawer. make it yours.
Cleanse it: You can pass it through incense, sprinkle salt on it, whisper over it, or knock it against your palm three times. Do what feels like a reset.
Claim it: Hold it in your hands and say:
âYou are mine. You are my flame, my focus, my will made visible.â
Charge it: Focus on your goal. Imagine it soaking into the wax like honey. It doesnât have to take more than a minute. The more focused you are, the brighter the burn.
đŻď¸Fire Is Fire, So Tell It What To Do
Hereâs the magic: one candle can hold any intention, if youâre clear with it.
Need protection? Light the candle and say: âBurn away what doesnât belong to me.â
Need clarity? âBring light to what I canât see.â
Need energy? âStir my blood, sharpen my spine.â
Need release? âBurn this tie, let the ashes fall.â
The words donât need to rhyme. They donât need to be long.
They just need to be yours.
đ Reuse It With Respect
Yes, you can reuse your candle, as long as:
You cleansed it between spells (a quick pass through incense or a firm knock of intent).
Youâre not mixing clashing energies (donât follow a banishing spell with a love spell on the same stub).
Youâre treating it like a tool, not trash.
Think of it like a paintbrush, rinse it, then dip again. Let it serve multiple portraits of your power.
đď¸ Burn Time Doesnât Define the Spell
A candle doesnât have to burn for hours to âwork.â
Short on time? Burn it for three deep breaths.
In a rush? Burn it as you speak one sentence with your whole soul.
Want to use the same one all week? Burn a little bit each day.
Snuff it out with care (never blow it out, your breath is air magic, but itâs disruptive here).
Use a spoon, a snuffer, or pinch it gently.
Final Whisper From Me
You donât need more stuff.
You need more trust.
One candle is enough. It always was.
The flame is old. It remembers who you are, even when you donât.
So next time your altar looks bare, or your supplies are scarce, or your heart feels small, light that single flame, and watch what it reveals.
a reminder that you donât need to be perfect to be a witch.
you donât need a full altar. you donât need to do daily rituals. you donât need to have memorised correspondences, or even fully know what path youâre walking yet. witchcraft is not about productivity. itâs not a race to be powerful. itâs not about who knows the most, or whose practice is the most aesthetic.
your magic is valid if itâs small. your practice is valid if itâs quiet. you are valid if youâre still figuring it out.

the new moon and dark moon are sometimes used interchangeably to refer to slightly different lunar phases.
the dark moon is said to be the last visible crescent before the new moon. with the new moon, its lunar disc is not visible at all. this is very much an "out with the old and in with the new" type situation so let's get into it!
my associations for each phase:
new moon -Â renewal, cleansing, new beginnings, healing, inner peace, harmony
craft charged moon water during this time for cleansing or banishing
take a relaxing ritual bath or shower with new moon water or incorporate it into your skincare routine if you have one
you can simply rinse your hands with new moon water before washing with soap and water if you want
anoint objects you wish to consecrate or cleanse
charge drinking water with new moon energy to consume later
if drinkable, use for cooking or as a base for tea or coffee
add a small amount to your washing machine or mop bucket
hell, charge an entire bucket of water under the new moon and mop your floors with it the next day because why not? lol
setting intentions
what do you want your life to look like moving forward? this can be as easy as writing your intentions/petitions down on paper and meditating on such, but feel free to get creative! how about a moodboard, perhaps?
or you can just quietly mull it over in your head like i do
what you do with it afterwards is up to you - burn it, bury it, throw it away, keep it forever, whatever!
use this time to:
reflect on past decisions and situations over the past month - how did they serve you? how did you handle them?
set new intentions for this upcoming lunar cycle
finish projects to leave room for new ones
craft spell jars and sachets and potions galore
do a tarot reading for yourself (or whatever other method of divination you prefer) for a forecast of the new lunar cycle
refresh and renew your altar
cleanse yourself of negativity or undesired energy - invite peaceful, calming energy in its place
banish bad habits or toxic people from your life
throw a lil return to sender their way if they won't back off or their energy still lingers
consecrate new tools to give them a purpose
cleanse used tools to make them like new - this includes crystals and other witchy stuff you use on the regular
declutter and clean your room, your house, your car, your space
do some laundry
tie up loose ends
meal prep
touch up your hair
wash your car
drink more water
tend to the plants you already have and then maybe get some new ones
pay attention to your health
do some self-care
why banish or curse during the dark moon?
i like to view the transition from dark moon to new moon as a door closing. when you banish during a dark moon, you're essentially sweeping out all the bad vibes before the door closes "for good." cursing itself can leave some nasty energy behind - that being said, do your cursework before banishing, that way "everything" gets thrown out at once. now you have a clean slate upon which to set your new moon intentions.
long story short? reevaluate, reset, and renew. â§
as always, be safe and use common sense when practicing magic or doing literally anything else!
đĽ 5 Witchcraft Myths That Are Wasting Your Time (And Keeping You Powerless)
Youâre here for magic, not myths.
Letâs burn some bad advice together.
1. You must buy all your tools.
Wrong. Your magic is in you, not in a $200 wand from Etsy. A stick, a spoon, or your finger will do.
2. You have to be born into it.
Nope. Thatâs just witchy gatekeeping. The spirits donât check your family tree before showing up.
3. All spells need fancy ingredients.
If itâs not accessible, itâs not practical magic. Salt, thread, paper, and your own spit have toppled kingdoms.
4. You have to be âpureâ to practice.
Magic doesnât care if you swore last night, forgot your crystals in the sun, or ate fast food. Youâre still a witch.
5. You canât curse and heal.
Duality is the heart of witchcraft. You can protect, curse, bless, hex, and heal all in one week if you want.
⨠Hereâs the truth:
Your magic works when you do.
Not when you follow rules made by someone selling you aesthetic candles at triple price.
đŽ Which of these myths did you believe when you started?
Reblog with your answers letâs see how many of us were lied to.
Mine isnt on here but when i first started out I got told I wasnât allowed to buy my own FIRST tarot deck otherwise it would be classed as bad luck. Thankfully found out it was a old myth tales and its not indeed bad luck for buying your own tarot deck.
So uh, any new baby witches out there and they want to buy your own deck for the first time? do it! pick whatever draws your attention.
you donât have to earn your witchcraft.
itâs not something you unlock after a certain number of spells, or books read, or rituals completed.
witchcraft belongs to you even on the days you forget the moon phase.
even on the days you donât feel connected.
even when youâre overwhelmed, burnt out, or unsure where to start again.
start where you are.
light a candle. say thank you. close your eyes and listen.
thatâs enough.
Hello! So, you're interested in using a Pendulum? Great! It's an amazing tool, it may help you organize your thoughts, figure out the pros and cons of a situation, or support your gut feeling. I really love it and it's very easy to use!
Disclaimer: Don't use the Pendulum to make important decisions. It's not about "Should I merry him?" It's about "I know I want to merry him and I'm curious what my subconscious thinks about him". Don't let the Pendulum rule your life, it's a tool to help not to dictate.
What is Pendulum?
The Pendulum is a small handheld tool. On a chain or string with a weight at the end. The Pendulum is guided by your subconscious mind. Answering questions with no bias and as close to the truth as your mind can be.
Why does it work?
The Pendulums answers don't come from nowhere, they come from your own mind! The answers look different for everyone, for example, mine is - swing back and forth for yes - go in circles for no. When you hold the end of the chain in your hand, you can't influence the answer, that woud be a completely useless answer.
How do I use it for yes or no questions?
Hold the Pendulum in your hand. Most hold it in their dominant hand. Let the weight heng down, about 10 to 15 centimeters (3.9 to 5.9 inches) from your hand. Ask your Pandelum to show you yes and no, it will most likely look different than mine! It's good to know what it looks like before you ask any questions. Your may swing from left to right, at an angle, make infinity signs, go in loops - the possibilities are endless. Know what your yes and no look like. When you know, think about your question - deeply focuse on why you want this answer, what does it mean to you.
For example:
Question: Which dress would make me look better? I think blue, right?
Focus: I really want to look professional for this job interview. This answer will make me more confident.
Now, close your eyes, take a deep breath. Try to move your body as little as possible, to not influence the answer. When you feel the movement through the chain - open your eyes. The Pendulum has given you your answer! At the end, I practice a small "thank you" ritual. After I'm done, I hold the Pendulum in my hand, put it near my heart and thank it for its help!
What is the Pendulum Board?
The Pendulum Board is used to answer more complicated questions. It's usually in a shape of a circle. It can be used for yes or no questions but it's not needed for that. What it is needed for is more complex answers. For example:
"Who's going to really support my decision?"
The answer woud be someone's name, The Pendulum needs the alphabet on The Board to answer it. Yes, it does resemble a Quia Board! And works in pretty much the same way, The Pendulum swings showing your answer latter by letter. The Boards can be more or less complicated, but most of them have the alphabet and numbers from 1 to 9.
How do I use the Pendulum with the board?
Hold the Pendulum in your hand, above the board. Most hold it in their dominant hand. Let the weight heng down, about 10 to 15 centimeters (3.9 to 5.9 inches) from your hand. Try to move as little as possible. Ask the Pendulum your questions and let it swing to the latter or number. Then "reset" it by pulling it back to the center of the board. Then repeat same routine, let it swing to the latter, reset it. When the word is done and you reset it for the last time, the Pendulum should start going in circles to indicate the end of the word.
Respect the Pendulum.
Pendulum is not an all knowing entitie. It's not even an entitie. It's just a tool opening doors to your subconscious. But, like I said - don't let it rule your life. The same as with tarot cards, it's just a tool. You can ignore it. You can disagree. It can be wrong. It's just a cool thing you can do to be more confident in your decisions. You are the master here, not a Pendulum tool.

đŻ You Canât Call It Witchcraft If Youâre a Bigot
Letâs be real, witches â itâs time to talk about something long overdue.
Thereâs a rising wave of people slapping the words âwitch,â âpagan,â or âmagicalâ onto themselves while still upholding systems of oppression, exclusion, and harm. They toss herbs into jars, chant affirmations under the moon, and still spew racism, homophobia, transphobia, antisemitism, ableism, or cultural superiority.
So, let me say this clearly â and feel free to repeat after me, loudly and unapologetically:
You canât be a witch and be racist.
You canât be a pagan and be homophobic.
You canât be a polytheist and be transphobic.
You canât be a witch and hate on other religions, minorities, or cultures.
You canât be a practitioner of any tradition rooted in honor, nature, community, and reverence and then turn around and act like a bigot.
You canât be pagan and be a fascist.
You canât say âlove and lightâ and then vote for policies that strip rights from others.
You canât call yourself a steward of the Earth and still dehumanize Her children.
In short?
You canât be a witch and an asshole.
Not without violating the very heart of what these spiritual paths are about.
đž Paganism & Witchcraft Are Community-Centric Paths
Despite what TikTok may have you believe, real witchcraft isnât just aesthetic spells, dark eyeliner, and a book of shadows you bought off Etsy (though those can be cute too).
Real paganism â in all its forms, from Hellenic to Norse to Kemetic to Celtic and beyond â is about living in relationship with the world, the divine, your ancestors, the land, and other people.
Itâs not an edgy costume. Itâs a way of being that demands accountability.
These paths were born from collective ways of living â not individualism, not supremacy, not gatekeeping, and definitely not hate.
To be a witch is to be part of a larger web of existence. If you weave poison into that web â through hate, cruelty, or exclusion â you unravel the entire thing.
âď¸ Pagan Ethics 101: What the Ancients Actually Valued
Letâs take it back â way back â to the pre-Christian world, the one so many pagans claim to be reviving or reclaiming.
The ancients valued:
Xenia â sacred hospitality, the moral obligation to care for guests, foreigners, and strangers.
Maâat â the Kemetic principle of cosmic balance, truth, justice, and order.
Frith â the Old Norse concept of peace within community, the responsibility to protect one another.
Reciprocity â across almost every ancient tradition, the idea that what you put out, you get back (energetically, spiritually, communally).
So if youâre spouting hate in the name of these traditions?
Youâre not reclaiming your roots â youâre betraying them.
đ You Canât Be Pagan and a Colonizer
This part is especially important:
Paganism and white supremacy are not friends.
If your practice is built on stolen rituals, misused cultural items, or bastardized interpretations of someone elseâs tradition â especially without respect or acknowledgment â then youâre not a witch. Youâre a spiritual colonizer.
And if you think âclosed practicesâ are just gatekeeping, consider this:
Some magic is dangerous. Some paths require initiation, training, ancestral permission, and cultural context. Thatâs not gatekeeping. Thatâs respect.
So no â you donât need to call on deities from cultures you donât belong to.
No â you donât need to use Indigenous terms you donât understand.
No â you donât get to claim spiritual superiority because you read one book and burned some sage from Walmart.
Do your research. Earn your path.
Magic without accountability is just ego.
đ A Word on Gender, Queerness, and the Craft
Letâs talk about transphobia and homophobia in the witchy world, because yes â unfortunately, it still exists.
If your witchcraft only recognizes binary gender roles, excludes trans and nonbinary people, or reduces womanhood to wombs â congratulations, youâve fallen for patriarchy disguised as spirituality.
Historically, queer and gender-fluid individuals held sacred roles in magical societies around the globe:
Galli priestesses of Cybele in ancient Rome, who were trans or gender-nonconforming.
Two-Spirit people in many Indigenous traditions, honored for their dual spiritual perspectives.
Hijra communities in South Asia, who have long played ceremonial and spiritual roles.
Queerness is not new to magic. It is magic.
To exclude LGBTQ+ folks from the craft is not traditional â itâs ahistorical.
đ What About Free Speech, Though?
This always comes up, so letâs say it loud for the people in the back:
Free speech protects you from government punishment.
It does not protect you from community consequences.
If you spread hate, lies, or oppression, people have every right to call you out, ban you from spaces, and stop buying your snake oil.
Being a witch isnât a license to harm.
Being âcontroversialâ doesnât make you enlightened.
Being âhonestâ doesnât excuse being cruel.
𧚠Clean House, Witches â Spiritually and Socially
If youâre reading this and feeling seen â good.
If youâre reading this and feeling defensive â even better.
Because hereâs the truth:
We all mess up. Weâre all learning. But itâs what you do next that counts.
Are you willing to deconstruct harmful beliefs?
Are you listening to marginalized voices?
Are you giving back to the communities you take from?
Are you unlearning supremacy disguised as âtraditionâ?
Are you practicing consent, compassion, and clarity?
Thatâs the real spellwork.
đĽ Final Word: Paganism Is Not a Refuge for Bigots
If your witchcraft only works when others are suffering â itâs not witchcraft. Itâs control.
If your paganism only uplifts people who look like you â itâs not paganism. Itâs a cult of ego.
If your spirituality isnât rooted in love, justice, balance, and humility â itâs not divine. Itâs dangerous.
Letâs stop pretending otherwise.
Letâs make it crystal clear:
Paganism has no room for white supremacy.
Witchcraft has no room for transphobia.
The sacred has no room for hate.
And if that offends you? You can kindly hex your way out the back of this blog.
đą Keep It Sacred, Keep It Just
Letâs build a spiritual community that honors:
The land we walk on.
The ancestors who guide us.
The people beside us.
The futures weâre shaping.
Magic without ethics is just manipulation.
Spirituality without justice is just performance.
And witches, we were not made to perform.
We were made to transform.
