How do we feel about tracing?? Specifically your own work? I drew this lady and coloured her with alcohol markers a while ago but I wanted to have a go in acrylic gouache so traced over her!!

Weirdly she has a more worried expression in this painting than the alcohol pen version.

What’s crazy is I wrote the body of the story a while ago and haven’t had a proper read of it and I’m surprising myself with what’s in there. I have totally forgotten what I’ve written and I’m quietly impressed.

Back on the ol’ acrylic gouache this afternoon. I won’t have time to finish it today but I do love the mess!!

Using another totally different medium has made me rethink my painting too. I’ve used Alcohol markers for a while and I really have to concentrate and slow down on the backgrounds because they dry so quickly you have to do it cm by cm. I’m usually very messy and quick doing acrylic gouache backgrounds but not today!! Dare I say it came out well!!
