“That’s good enough for me.” 

The enemy of my enemy is my potential ally who may or may not backstab me later but has potential in the immediate moment. 

“figure it’s good enough for most people. brotherhood’re racists. assholes. and their little uniform’s’re ugly’re than sin. at least, i think so. i had to wear one of em back in vegas, and they made my ass look lumpy.”

“The vapors?” Six repeats it just to be sure, and then she giggles, “Alrighty then, granny – g’head and take a lil’ load off.” She teases, but she still takes a moment to appraise him. Heat exhaustion isn’t a joke.

She dug her canteen from her pack to present all the same, “Here, Sugar – this water’ll help.”

“granny? i ain’t a goddamn...” he grumbles for a minute, going to sit on a rock, wiping the sweat from his brow. he looks up when she offers him water, and he takes it. he’s not a monster most of the time, so he says what he needs to.

“’Fisto’? Was his primary function guard duty?” The Miss Nanny unit questioned. “Was Victor a scientist as well, perhaps?” 

“uhhh...not exactly. i mean...fisto...he...well...” cain laughs. “uh...victor was a securitron. a fancy little cowboy robot. had the little...screen and everything. cute as a button. he was real friendly...up until the end.”

“I said watch your damn step. The Brotherhood left their mines everywhere– you know what, forget I said anything. You deserve losin’ a toe for that lip.”

“ho-lee shit! me too! originally from the texas commonwealth, but i moved on up to vegas when i’s real little. huh. small fuckin’ world, ain’t it. you like boston so far?”

“had me a robot friend back’n vegas...name was victor. real cute. oh, and there was fisto too.”

“yeah. brotherhood fuckin’ sucks. least we can agree on that.”

“gotdamn, six. it’s fuckin’ hot. if i don’t sit down, i’m gon’ get the fuckin’ vapors.”

“you sound like you ain’t from the commonwealth.”

“you ever seen a feller eat a stick’a dynamite?”
