AFTER FINISHING A LARGE SHIFTING PROJECT
Grey’s Anatomy is adding a little A-list star power in Season 12, albeit behind the scenes. Two-time Oscar winner Denzel Washington has signed on to direct an episode of ABC’s durable medical drama, TVLine has learned exclusively. Washington will helm this season’s ninth episode, a Stacy McKee-penned outing that is scheduled to start shooting later this month (ahead of a November sweeps debut). Although Washington has previously directed two films — 2002’s Antwone Fisher and 2007’s The Great Debaters — this will be his first time calling the shots on the small screen. There will be a familiar face waiting for Washington when he shows up on set: The actor is a longtime friend of Grey’s exec producer/director Debbie Allen.
I *heart* this news!!!
My little sister turned her room into a library and I have never been more proud.
Get that kid a scholarship to library school! So adorable.
Starting the library love early :)

I posted this a while ago on my old blog. Â I have to admit, I haven't watched the Good Wife in a long time. Â But I just saw a preview on CBS and I can't help but love Diane's necklaces. Â They are just gorgeous!
Fringe Hours
I was delighted to become a part of the Launch Team for Jessica N. Turner's book, The Fringe Hours.  I was so excited when I received my advanced copy; I couldn't wait to dive in to it. Â
I've read her blog, The Mom Creative, for years, along with her posts at InCourage. Â I've always admired how real she is. Â She shares her love of creativity and crafting on her blog, but also shares snippets of her family life. Â It's not always perfect, but it's real. Since I work full-time, am currently pursuing a Master's degree, have a two-year-old daughter, and work to organize and manage my home, I can appreciate the fact that life is not perfect...it can be super messy.
Jessica's book encourages us to make time for ourselves, helping us to identify the fringe hours in our days when we should take the time to rest or pursue our passions. Â This book acknowledges the importance of such pursuits, not only for our mental health, but for our physical and spiritual health as well.
In the past few months, my fringe hours have been spent reading library science textbooks and completing assignments, along with washing the pile of dishes in my sink or picking up toys in our living room. Â I know that sometimes I need to learn to let the laundry or the dishes sit for a night so that I can enjoy a cup of coffee and curl up with a book I'm reading for (can you even believe it?) pleasure. Â I'd also love to learn how to knit or crochet this year. Â Who says I can't make the time to do just that?
This book also helps readers to identify their passions if they are unsure of what they are passionate about. Â Sometimes when you're taking care of the needs of others - putting together lunches, helping with homework, making dinner - it becomes easy to forget what you enjoy doing on your own time. Â I think this book will help you to get back in touch with what excites and ignites you. Â
This book will be released in February, but you can pre-order it on Amazon and other major book retailers. Â I guarantee you won't regret picking up a copy. Â
So true...
Almost done...
Well, my semester's just about over. Â Assignments are all turned in, now just waiting on grades. Â So technically, my work is done, but the worrying is still hanging around. Â All in all I feel my first semester of library school has been a success. Â There were moments I felt so overwhelmed, cursing myself for not taking on this task several years ago, when I would have had more time to devote to the cause. Â But there is a time and a season for everything. Â And apparently, this is going to be a busy season (2-3 years) for me...
Is it lame that I can't wait to watch this? Â The movies weren't the greatest, but I dig pretty much anything that has Christian Kane in it...

Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

Beautiful. Â
Get ready to spend copious amounts of time in Stars Hollow, because Gilmore Girls is coming to Netflix. The site will stream all seven seasons starting October...
Who else is excited about this???
Balancing act...
I am in the third week of the first semester of my MSLS, and have been feeling a bit overwhelmed. Â I've never done the part-time student thing. Â For six years, I was a full-time student, and only had to work part-time. Â This time I'm working full-time, and juggling home and work commitments along with all of the work I'm doing for my classes. Â
So far it's been pretty manageable, it's just hard not to feel guilty when I have to take the time to read a chapter or two or contribute to discussions with my classmates instead of spending time with my daughter. Â This is particularly hard for me after being away from her for 9 hours of work each day. I know I'm certainly not the first mom to deal with this, but lately I'm just feeling overwhelmed. Â I know that this will be worth it when I complete this degree, but sometimes I find myself wishing I would have pursued this a few years ago. Â But everything happens for a reason, right? Â There's a reason I'm pursuing this now, there's a reason my daughter is here to watch as I go through this process. Â
I want her to know that she can do it all...she can be a mom, she can pursue her education, she can be successful at work. Â She can do whatever she wants and be good at all of it. Â Sometimes juggling it all can be hard, but it's worth it. Â I truly believe that it is all worth it.
PREACH!

WHEN I REMEMBER TOMORROW IS A PAID HOLIDAY

WHEN I REMEMBER TOMORROW IS FRIDAY!!!
RIP Robin Williams. Â This is one of my favorite scenes from Dead Poets Society. Â Such an enormous talent, gone too soon. Â
