you will pursue something creative. i am a designer, but at six, i don’t think you know what that is yet. it’s like kid pix. i know computer class makes you anxious but you have plenty of time to learn how to use one. you’ll know how to use one well enough to work off of it. i hope you are proud of me. 

one thing if it makes you feel better: over the years your parents will tell you that you are not responsible, but that is definitely not true, so don’t worry. 

but i’m not just here to tell you how you’re doing exactly 20 years into the future on your birthday. i do owe you an apology. i am so sorry for all the times i’ve doubted you, or have been so mean to you, or thought you weren’t deserving of anything. i can’t look at you without being moved to tears. i feel awful for ever thinking that about you—about myself—because you are still inside me. i am sorry for hurting you. i want to protect you and love you. i’m working to forgive myself in many ways, i hope you can forgive me.
