How do you pick the right fabric? What drives your choice? Use, ease, feel, super fun prints? The Pristine Swing Dress is fairly versatile for fabric. Designed to work for light wovens or knit for the main fabric and medium wovens, i.e. Quilter’s cotton, for contrast, the sky is really the limit on this. Now the majority of featured pristines on the web are knits: jerseys, cotton-Lycra, and sweater knits, but there have also been voile and lawns and even a satin. My first pristine is a rayon challis with a broadcloth contrast. What fabrics are you leaning towards? Here is the fabric for my second dress. I'm using a fairly drapey jersey and corduroy contrast. I like the ease and comfy fit of knit and with the pristine design sewing with knit is fairly easy, as you're often sewing to a more stable woven fabric. Talk to me about fabric.
