#Repost @cylynex with @repostapp. ・・・ While exploring the wilds of upstate NY, I came to this bridge. My first thought, obviously, was Temple of Doom. Now, the bridge was a bit shorter, it wasn't really swaying, was reinforced with steel, and only about 15 feet above a fairly calm river with no alligators. Nevertheless! #Repost @cylynex with @repostapp. ・・・ Twilight over Glacier Point in Yosemite. I saw this shrub through the crowd during sunset, with #halfdome in the background. I waited till the crowd dispersed about 12 seconds after sunset and waited for the stars to appear. Once they did I hopped the rail and climbed down to the ledge to get my picture. The view of the valley below was amazing. Tiny dots of light from campers and hikers dotting the landscape. The first thing I thought when I got off the vaporetto was, I'm starving time for lunch. But the second thing I thought was they weren't kidding about the bright colors. Oranges, pinks, blues, and yellows everywhere. To me, photography is usually what I see. Sometimes though, it's fun to exaggerate what you saw into something more like how you remember it. Vibrant colors that pop out at you and grab your attention. Heavily detailed clouds and reflections. This shot is an exaggeration. It's more how I like to remember it than what it literally looked like, but truth be told it's not really that far off. If you have never seen a southern sunset, do yourself the favor of putting it on your to-do list. This shot concludes the pier to pier gallery, hope you all enjoyed viewing it as much as I enjoyed shooting it.

"This above all: to thine own self be true" -shakespeare Sometimes looking at something a different way can change everything. That and harsh, midday light really stinks for photography. So I came up with this while waiting around for a sunset one afternoon in Daphne, Alabama.

Another big sky, but deviating just a bit from the color palette used for the rest of the Stormcatcher shots. You can clearly see the storm moving on land, blacking out everything in a curtain of rain as it comes. One tiny little boathouse is the last chance of shelter before it hits.. It's stark, it's unforgiving, it's isolation. Another shot from the deep South (Mobile Bay, to be precise) it really does capture a sense of lonesomeness. It's amazing to be in the middle of a populated area, yet be totally alone out here on the water, with a view of nothing but water, clouds, and these amazing piers.
