A little more background information on R!Chi Creature, R!Katnappe, and R!Bird of Paradise at the request of @starstruckenemyalpaca 🫡

R!Chi Creature (as the role of Katnappe)

R!Katnappe (as the role of the Chi Creature)

• Turns collected Chi into gems • Can create nine exact replicas of itself • Mimics the sound of baby cries • Can mutate living beings into supernatural monsters via saliva

I did not have any particular Shadow design, but while I was drawing her and Kimiko, I started thinking about her origin story and how it would have been a smoother introduction if she were one of Chase's jungle cats. I tried tweaking her design according to the origin story I cooked up (hope you like it and the yuri!) :

Shadow is a young fallen warrior who was once equivalent to Joan of Arc before she was executed. Right before dying, Chase, with Shadow's permission, collected her soul and turned her into one of his jungle cats. Her experience has made her despise humankind, a stance that didn't falter for centuries, until she met Kimiko. She sees her old self in the Xiaolin warrior, and her desire to save Kimiko from the same fate tests her loyalty.

R!Shadow as a bonus!

Ah, yes, Salvador Cumo. A silver-tongued, middle-aged, lizard immortal who's taken a special interest in Raimundo.

His existence implies that there are more immortals around the world from different cultures. How are they all connected? We'll never know.

R!Megan finds Good!R!Jack overly strict for her liking since R!Jack spoils her and lets her get away with behaviours that may be deemed inappropriate (e.g., lets her steal his glass of wine, keep dangerous creatures as pets, shoot glitter bombs, eat bugs, etc.)

I try not to deviate too much from the source material when it comes to character relationship dynamics, but considering how we don't really see Good!Chase and Good!Jack interact in the show, I made an ~educated guess~ and reflected that on R!Good!Chase and R!Good!Jack.

R!Good!Chase and R!Good!Jack regard each other with amicable politeness. Because R!Good!Chase does not suffer from insecurity and pride warring in his heart, he's not obsessed with R!Good!Jack like R!Chase is. He looks up to the man the way a dutiful student looks to a teacher. R!Good!Jack takes the boy's naive, overbearing enthusiasm in stride.

Pretty much like canon Good!Jack but calmer:

Fairy godmother/Mary Poppins vibe

Kicks ass with ballet moves

Menacing optimism
