I did not have any particular Shadow design, but while I was drawing her and Kimiko, I started thinking about her origin story and how it would have been a smoother introduction if she were one of Chase's jungle cats. I tried tweaking her design according to the origin story I cooked up (hope you like it and the yuri!) :
Shadow is a young fallen warrior who was once equivalent to Joan of Arc before she was executed. Right before dying, Chase, with Shadow's permission, collected her soul and turned her into one of his jungle cats. Her experience has made her despise humankind, a stance that didn't falter for centuries, until she met Kimiko. She sees her old self in the Xiaolin warrior, and her desire to save Kimiko from the same fate tests her loyalty.
R!Shadow as a bonus!
R!Rai and R!Clay have a tentative alliance. They occasionally drink together, but R!Clay's penchant for cruelty (especially towards children) deters R!Rai from forming any closer relationship.
