When you notice that all the hard work you’ve put into your target language is finally starting to pay off

…I almost killed myself

I put on my sunglasses, to hide my swollen eyes, over my tears. I cried all my makeup off. Went inside to have a milkshake. I don’t know why. I wanted something to drink as I figured out what I would do. I got a soda and a milkshake. Medium. The cashier looked at me and with a line around the corner of the counter he rushed away from the counter “Hold on “ he yelled to a coworker.

I filled my soda and went back and saw him looking all over. I go up and he gets close and says “I made it a large”.

That was seriously enough for me not to do it. His kindness. Someone went out of their way and as I went back in my car to cry I realized I could muster through a few other days. A few more weeks. Then I came down from that panicky high of anxiety, depression, and pain. I finished my shake. And it was enough time to let me feel better. I… I’m alive. I’ll make it through.

Try and be nice today. Tomorrow. Something as much as a smile. It helped so much.

Thank you man at McDonalds.

I’m here because a teacher had me stay after class, to ask why I was in said class if I knew all the material( albeit much more rudely by accident ), the proceeded to drive me too and from school because the bus was not safe for me and my mother had just had shoulder surgery, now he and I are friends and I’m the adopted uncle of his kid, who calls me Uncle Grim. He has bought me food and clothes when I couldn’t afford them, and when I had my first cancer scare was the first person I thought to call for advice. All it take is a little something, it doesn’t have to be much, so say hi, wave, smile if you can, complement that person’s outfit/hair. One little action can cause a chain reaction.

Hope everyone had a lovely(and productive) weekend💖 I spent a few hours helping an Irish friend learning Korean, he’s teaching himself just like me. 화이팅! And my Chinese friend told me that 《老男孩》 is a good one, so I started watching it. I’m glad that I can understand lots of words and sentences while watching it in Chinese subtitles only(can’t help it, there’s no EN or KR subs yet). Seeing progress is always enjoyable and motivating. 加油💪

While I was out, I used up the sky blue ink(which is my favourite💙), had to change to the darker one. Haven’t decided yet which colour I would go with next. And today’s weather was warm and lovely, I took out a fan for the first time for this year. Yay! (I’m a big fan of fan😎, gonna get more fans for this summer, particularly the ones with bamboo printings🎋)

My friend mentioned a film called 美人鱼, so I watched it. It was funny but I didn’t like the way they treat women. I gave it 1 star for the chief mermaid woman. Quite uncomfortable and frustrating. Maybe I expected too much?!?
