            a   pretty   boy   for   a   pretty   girl      ——-      adaline   has   her   eyes   set      ,      fixated   upon   the   strange   individual   just   a   few   feet   away   from   her      ,      wandering   the   hallways      ,      features   twisted   in      perplexity      as   he   stares   down   at   a   piece   of   paper      ,      which   she   assumes   tobe   his   schedule   for   the   rest   of   the   semester      .      noah   abrams      ,      the   new   boy   who   had   just   transferred      ,      &      she   knew   all   about   it      (      from   snooping   through   the   student   files   on   one   late   night      .      )      she   was      oddly      interested      ,      mostly   because   he   was   different   from   most   of   the   other   males   in   her   class      ;      he   looked   like   it      ,      anyway      .      watching   his   movements   carefully      ,      she   waits   until   he’s   a   few   steps   closer   towards   her   to   suddenly   look   at   the   random   papers   in   her   locker      ,      acting      as   if   she   was   unaware      of   his   presence      ,      hoping   he   will   somehow   collide   into   her      .      she’s   lucky      ,      as   she   feels   his   body   press   into   her   side      ,      nearly   tumbling   her   over      .      a   small   smile   of   success   etches   upon   her   crimson   colored   lips      ,      but   it   fades   to   remain   true   to   her   act      .      she   gasps   in   false   revelation      ,      a   hand   gripping   onto   his   shoulder   to   keep   her   stance   still      .      ❛      oh      ,      no      ,      i’m   so   sorry      !      i   should   have   seen   you   were      coming   my   way      .      ❜       she   sighs      ,      a   shrug   soon   rolling   off   her   shoulders   loosely      .    ❛      i   guess   the   first   day   of   school   has   us   both   just     a   little   too     preoccupied      .      my   name’s   adaline      !      what’s   yours      ?      do   you   mind   if   i   take      a   look   at   your   schedule      ?      ❜      

           a   sense   of   relief   came   over   the   male   once   a      lovely      smile   was   returned   to   his   apology      ,      along   with   reassuring   words   that   he   hadn’t   realized   he   needed   until   now      .      ever   since   he   first   stepped   foot   on   campus      ,      not   a   single   individual   made   any   sort   of   attempt   to   speak   to   him      ,      or   even      acknowledge      him      ,      for   that   manner      .    not   that   he   was   expecting   anybody   to   anyway      ,      though   it   sure   was   nice   to   be   distracted   by   the      overwhelmingness      of   attending   a   new   school      .      ❛      yeah      ,      i   guess   so      .      ❜      a   laugh      ,      slightly   brimmed   with   nerves      ,      emits   from   his   lips     ,     which   soon   immersed   itself   into   a   smile   as   he   nods   at   her   words      .      he   was      baffled      once   she   asked   for   his   name      ,      as   it’s   only   been   asked   for   in   order   to   take   attendance      .      ❛      oh      ,      i’m   noah      .      it’s   nice   to   meet   you      ,      adaline      .      ❜      he    extends   out   an   arm      ,      offering   her   his   hand   though   immediately      regrets      it      ,      realizing   now   how   strangely   formal   it   was      .      ‘     you’re   not   greeting   a   girl   that’s   your   grandmother’s   age      ,      noah      .      ’    he   thought   to   himself      ,      knowing   there   was   no   chance   of   retrieving   it   at   this   point   ,   so   he   simply  awaits   for   her   to   return   his   gesture   before   shoving   it   into   his   pocket   to   offer   her   his      wrinkled      schedule      .      the   name   was   fitting     ,     as   it   was   just   as   pretty   as   she   was     .      ❛      i   figured   i   would   use   up   lunch   time   to   go   find   my   next   class      ,     so   i   wouldn’t   be   late      &      all      .      ❜
