Imagine if Will created the Upside Down-Hawkins in 1983 when he got lost, wanted to go home, and his emotions were strong. So he also manages to dissolve said Upside Down-Hawkins when his emotions are just as strong and he’s finally found his way home.

She literally side eyes him, looks displeased or almost annoyed, let's out a sigh, and then kinda stomps into her room and uses her powers to close the door, which they have only shown her doing when she's mad. And even Mike seems a little done with that situation. I mean, this is the first shot of his face we get after she goes into her room and before Will asks him about their situation. He doesn't even look sad he just looks done.

And I also find it interesting how they didn't show us Mike and El interacting after his monologue. They didn't give us a scene of Mike going after El and trying to talk to her and ask her how she's doing, like any other boyfriend would do. They didn't show us Mike trying to get El to open up to him. They didn't give us a sweet moment of them BOTH saying ily at the same time. Instead they told us that Mike and El haven't spoken and then showed us the seventh Byler heart-to-heart this season immediately after. Mike and El are still having communication problems and relationship issues, meanwhile Byler's friendship has been completely restored and they aren't lacking communication. That's interesting...🤨

Anyway, back to El. Anyone else would be running to their significant other during a time like that for comfort. I know I would. But El isn't. She isn't seeking comfort from Mike when she totally would have done that before season 4 and even at the beginning of season 4. So although she is very upset about Max, she is also upset with Mike. She can be both things at once. Also, they confirmed she had barely spoken to Mike during the 2 days it took them to get to Hawkins and that was BEFORE she went to the hospital and found out about the extent of Max's injuries. She has barely spoken a word to him since his monologue but was smiling and hugging and talking to people when she got back to Hawkins. So how do Menopause shippers explain that??
