This idea ain't dead yet, just been focused on other stuff. Suddenly had a small spark of inspiration for this, even though it's gonna sit on the back burner for the time being. Meet Sterling "The Bear" O'Behr, a boxer from the 40's currently haunting a creepy doll. An old timer that was set to throw a match and didn't, and while getting ready to leave the set that night someone attacked him from behind. His death is a mystery, and through a series of yard sales the doll ended up at the White Elephant. And in Scott's lap to deal with.

Some more sketches! Because why not! Slowly working towards a likeable style. If you can call it that...

Trialing some storytelling. I suck at panels and pacing because I am not good at backgrounds (CharactersInVoids4Lyfe). Also why did I think antlers were a good idea? Could've been just horns or nothing at all but noooooo my dumb impatient butt said 'hey let's design something with detail and symmetry, things you SUCK at' lol.

Below is a fun lil summertime Grif (doing that little heart thing from TikTok I donno I'm old and hoping it's not actually something offensive). Have I mentioned she has vitiligo? She and Scott get along splendidly in the office after she's done being suspicious of him for a while. The two make a pretty good pair, even with having to drag Damien's butt along with them (thus defeating the point of hiring Scott as the office manager). But before they play nice the two dance around knowing that the other has a secret for a while. And let's just say if Grif doesn't wanna talk, she's not talking.

And then there's a shy lil Scotty. I donno, Jun probably told him to try the dress on and he didn't expect to feel pretty. Sometimes dresses do that. Especially if they have pockets (and if it's Jun's, then yes. There are totally pockets).

Body language! Discernable shapes! Consistency!!! One day people...

The story goes that the old house up on the hill is haunted by the vengeful spirit of the first owner's wife. She got into a fight one rainy evening with her husband and, when he threatened to cast her out and take everything away from her- the money, the house, the children- she killed them all and tried to burn the place down too. The husband's business partner stepped in at last second and sacrificed himself to try and save them, but it was too late. Mr. DeRochfort, broken-hearted at the loss of his beautiful family and now his closest friend, took his life as well, and perished in the partial house fire.

She had her revenge.

But not fully. Now, she haunts the DeRochfort estate, and anybody brave enough–or dumb enough, depending on the crowd– to dare try and enter her home, you'll be met with The Lady in Green and her festering anger.

That's Damien Saintclaire. He's the nephew of Solomon Ward, owner of the local paranormal investigation consulting firm. His mom is a big-time celebrity medium and he's trying to make it big like her, so he's... stuck in the middle of Nowheresville, Pine Barrens NJ with his mom's has-been brother. For "training". Damien's been put on research duty, so when the new hire to replace Damien shows up and looks an awful lot like the guy he saw dragged into the glowing green chasm in the middle of the haunted house he wasn't supposed to be in last week, things get a little awkward around the office.

And then there's poor Grif Rhodes, the owner of the only functioning brain cell in the place. She's going to school to be a nurse, keeps to herself, and is not a fan of Damien. Naturally, Sol sticks him with her.
