it was entirely fair for valencia to rip her apart with her manicured nails- if jenny was in her shoes, she wouldâve raised holy hell instead of offering an understanding ear. the blonde took the somewhat biting jokes in stride, and she shook her head, reaching out to squeeze the otherâs hand. âlisten, youâre right- i am a terrible, awful person but i am working on it,â jenny insisted, gratefully taking the phone offered, with the silent resolve to prove the beautiful brunette wrong at every turn. the next joke made her glossed lips twitch in an almost smile, relieved that val seemed to be genuine in her offering to not hold this against her. at the mention of addressing things with valâs father, jenny groaned and nodded, knowing as much as she hated it, the other woman had a point. âi know youâre right, but i really wish you werenât,â jenny muttered, her cheeks reddening at the sheer shame of facing the man who had seduced her into bed, reducing her to the terrible cliche of the blonde bimbo who hooked up with a man who had a family. âi should really go, you know, try and find where i dropped my self esteem and self worth. but i will text you about going out, are you busy tonight?â she asked in a soft voice, noticing the way valenciaâs features softened at the briefest touch.
âyouâre not terrible or awful. really, jenn. you gotta stop kicking yourself for this. if iâm not angry, you shouldnât be.â valencia truly hoped that they could joke about this fully one day. maybe her comment was a little too sharp for this moment. she would just have to hold off the âaâ material until another day. âiâm free tonight. i love your enthusiasm,â the dark haired woman replied with a soft laugh. there was no hint of sarcasm in that response as well. she did enjoy how excited the blonde seemed to be about...everything. she didnât need cold or aloof. she got plenty of that from her parents. she needed this energy in her life. especially when it was coming from someone who looked like jenny. âif you makes you feel better, iâll give you...three dates before we sit good olâ dad down and address his...whatever we wanna call it. gotta tell him that i have dibs now. well,â she shrugged, âyou have dibs.â
