Blast from the past! On May 5, 1958—opening day of the Public Service Building—BWS cashier, Mrs. Dannette Brown, assists the first customer, the first female customer, and the first couple. The unique and architecturally renowned building on Beretania Street, designed by the architecture firm of Wood, Weed, and Kubala, has been a central hub for the BWS to serve the Oahu community. Congratulations to Industrial Construction Inspector Bradley Tamaoka, who was recently selected as the 2015 BWS Employee of the Year! Bradley, who joined BWS in 1990, oversees construction projects involving BWS facilities (buildings, wells, pump stations, etc.) to ensure that the ongoing work meets the project specifications and construction standards. Pictured with Bradley is BWS Board Chair Duane Miyashiro, Manager Ernest Lau, his colleagues in the BWS Construction Inspection section, and his wife Laurie (also a BWS employee). Congratulations, Brad!
