to err is human

The shout earns a little recoil from the being, dark brows furrowing almost immediately. He watches, in silence as the other being immediately shrink back — staring in his direction but not looking directly art him. Thus, the creature turns a bit to cast a glance behind him, knowing that nothing was there but… still electing to check. When he confirms that nothing was indeed there, he faces the other fallen again.

Yeong-su then steps a little closer and crouches down in front of the other and gently nudges the barrier of his wings.

She hums at his question, trying to recall if she does have anything planned. Nothing comes to mind and finally she shrugs with a little laugh. “Not that I can remember… might have a random outing with a few friends, but my grand plans amount to catching up on chores, relaxing, and sleep,” she grins before taking a sip of her drink.

“That sounds nice.” he mumbles. It’s just loud enough for her to hear, but he still follows up with something else. “It’s still a good use of your time, even if you don’t have some sort of… “grand plan” to enjoy yourself. Sometimes, it’s the smaller things that help.”

Caio then allows a sigh to escape him. “…I don’t have much planned for the weekend. I’ll maybe do a couple chores… and some shopping. Any free time I have outside of that will likely just be used for leisure. Maybe go for a walk… or see a movie. Or work on something from home. There’s a couple books I've gottent that I've yet to start as well.”

It’s an “exciting life” he led.

Aside from the good doctor. And being a dog, he was going to sniff out some secrets. Even if he had to get injured just for a reason to be send back here.

"Alright, something easy then."

"What's your favorite food?" He didn't even seem to care about the procedure anymore. Now that the bloody work was done and the rest was clean, surgical precision, it didn't interest him anymore. His leg was basically stitched up by now and even the blood had been wiped away entirely.

He was still going.

He supposes that he can understand why the mutt was so very interested in the ins and outs of his life ( and chalked it up to unending curiosity ). Even still, the comment of “asking something easier” followed by his questioning earns a roll of Caio’s eyes.

“I do have a life outside of this place. That was never in question.” he responds as he now shifts his attention to making sure he cleaned up. Old gloves are discarded and one by one, he places the items he had gathered either in the trash ( as they were used ) or back where they belonged ( such is the case for the remaining roll of bandages, the scissors, and what not ). Once done, he looks at Jacks again and returns to the stool that he was sitting on prior.

“Why does it matter if I can tell you what I do outside of this place? It shouldn’t and you shouldn’t care.” he then says, “Ideally, we should know next to nothing about each other’ personal life — especially in this line of work.”

“Is it going to affect how well you think you’re going to get treated when you sit on my table? Because if that’s the case, I think it says more about yourself than I.”

His question draws her attention and she looks up at him finally, giving him an apologetic smile as she shakes her head. “No… I’m being dumb,” she told him, unsure how to explain what was going on in her head. She was being irrational, a common female curse thanks to ever changing hormone levels. 

Caio blinks a little bit offering Melody a little nod afterwards There are a couple moments where it’s clear he’s trying to figure out what he should say next. “Well…. You would know if I didn’t want to be in here or order from here. I would tell you if that was the case.” he then says, raising a brow. “And, again, you’re not being difficult… or crazy.”

The inch further up in the line and his eyes flick towards the approaching register and the one employee standing behind it taking orders. His eyes then flick to the other behind bar, making drinks to be handed to customers. His attention then drinks down to what remaining pastries and snacks they have available, before looking towards the seating briefly.

“...You said you wanted a vanilla chai, right? Anything else you’re eyeing?” he then asks, “And are we staying here or… braving the cold again?”

DO'S

Make note on his habits, likes, and dislikes. he will watch you as much as you watch him

Spend a LOT of quality time with him. Make it a genuine pair of your routine

Butt heads with him a little. Knowing where you differ is important. Being assertive is also important. just don't start a fight with him

Sit with him and check on him when he is not feeling well. It will go a long way. Double so if you're aware of his hiccups because it's a good way to gain trust.

Buy things for his birds ( but he has to. Tell you that he has them first. ). these little dudes are his lifelines to sanity. loves them both very much

Get him a little trinket that he can carry with him. Also goes a VERY long way

if he tells you to stay away from ji-hwan, agree to do so. he may not explain why, just that you should ( and it will follow ji-hwan dropping by to say hi to you or interacts with you. it may not be about caio explicitly ) and if he feels like you make light of it, he will get upset.

respect his privacy. pretty self-explanatory and ji-hwan related. he likes quality time but also. needs a minute by himself. listen if he repeats himself

DON'TS

Don't rush him towards a romantic relationship. He'll usually make it clear he's fine with one or that he sees you as his partner ( most verses ) and is rarely wishy washy ( mafia + musician ). implying more before he's ready makes him upset -> i.e: Caio is demi. you have to have a deep, emotional non-romantic dynamic for even a whiff of romantic feelings on his end and that's not even guaranteed. otherwise, you are just a good friend.

he doesn't like extravagant gifts for himself. He wont reject them but he will not know what to do with it. fine with getting extravagant gifts for others

Threaten to do something about ji-Hwan. He is not ready to let go and he will get very upset if you imply that's something he needs to do... because he is aware of that. He feels like he does not need your muse telling him that and will say as such.

say you don't like pets. very trivial but his birds are his lifeline and he will take this personally

lie to him. also takes this personally. caio may not talk about things but he will never outright lie to you.

make decisions for him. self-explanatory and ji-hwan related. he has a lot of issues concerning his own autonomy so... he would appreciate it if that wasn't taken from him again.

i'm sure he has many more dos and don'ts but these are the main ones. like i said in part 1, caio is kinda difficult. you could follow this guide and caio could still be like "you know what? no." for several reasons... most of them are ji-hwan shaped.

this can also be used as a friend guide, honestly. dude needs more friends than he needs romantic relationships. but i can't tell you what to do.
