From everything else in the book, I can see how this is really important advice for those with ADHD. But I think it is also good advice for anyone! Humans like playing and being creative. That doesn't go away just because you turn 18 and become an adult. Finding ways to add more play, joy and whimsy into every day routines would help everyone.

When I had a class of all girls I was told “do whatever, girls will sit still for 30 minutes” when I taught for boys I was told to mix it up every 5-10 minutes. When I had a mixed class, it was mix it up every 5-10 minutes - we defaulted to what the boys preferred

Why are boys doing poorly in school? Because they are allowed to, in a way girls are not. They still get jobs and promotions with lower GPAs. Their parents blame the teachers not them. What will make boys do better in school?
