Dylan: doubtful !! good songs do not leave you

Dylan: I bet she's a great woman then :)

Buzz: No idea.

Buzz: What was that song you played me the other day?

Buzz: I would try to help but I can only hum the melody and this is a text.

Another smile his way, because there truly was no way to reply to him without coming off as someone playing off their modesty, and then there was the immediate comfort of his touch, the gentlest hint of guidance. She didn’t particularly know all of the people in the crowded room, but she wasn’t necessarily looking to make more connections for the rest of the evening. Spending time with Buzz would be more than valuable enough to her.

“A piña colada, please. Thank you,” she spoke up, smiling at the bar tender before turning back towards her friend. “The newer casts? They all look so young, and full of energy. Fresh-faced. It’s a little bit intimidating to try and compare yourself to them.” A small shrug, as though it wasn’t even in her mind to worry over it, and she took a small sip of her mixed drink while looking up at him. “How is everything going on your end? Are you planning for season 3?”

“Eh, there’s no comparison.” he replied before taking a swig from his beer. Even though he was only twenty-five, he had noticed how young the casts seemed to look. It almost made him wonder if they had cast age appropriate actors for roles. “We are. Lots of storyboards and post-its.” He nodded, the corner of his mouth ticking up as if on reflex. “I think the fans will like the new stuff but we’re still integrating that overarching storyline. It’ll be interesting.”

It was impossible not feeling at ease around Buzz. However much he expressed his preferences for quietness, and staying out of the spotlight altogether, he was the sort of person others would flock to, undoubtedly drawn by his irradiated goodness. “Just wait until someone else recognizes you for the spectacular person that you are,” she commented, her eyes focused on his face. “Oh, sure? If you’re getting one, that is. I wouldn’t want to impose.”

 “Yeah, because that’s you. Peyton Nichols, huge ass imposition.” His gentle tone had no chance at masking his natural sarcasm. Peyton never had been, nor did he think she could ever be, an imposition. He stepped forward then, hand moving to her back to guide her toward the bar, navigating them both through the little cliquish groups. 

Waving over a bartender as they arrived, he ordered a beer and let Peyton order for herself. Soon, beer in hand, Buzz leaned against the hard wood, “So what do you think of the new shows? Met anyone of the new casts?”

“No party is a real party unless we’ve got Buzz Davidson on the scene.” Peyton smiled again, her gaze warm as she focused on the writer, then nodded as if to concede his point. “That could be right. I haven’t been seeing much of anybody outside of my co-workers lately. Shooting schedules.” She shrugged slightly, still in good humor, and tilted her head in the general direction of the rest of the party. “Are you enjoying yourself now, though? I’ve recently realized there’s no use in staying somewhere you’re not comfortable. No matter the work perks.”

Buzz listened as she spoke, looking over her head at the people gathered around them. It was a great turnout, he supposed, but there was a reason he was behind the camera rather than in front.  “You want me to be honest with you?” he asked, smiling softly as his eyes came back to hers. “I am enjoying myself a lot more since you came around.” Looking down, he didn’t know what else to say, instead opting to gesture toward the bar, “You need a drink?”

“There you are! You know, I thought you might just ditch for better plans of your own making.” Peyton’s smile was genuine as she reached towards @buzz-davidson, one hand touching his arm, lips grazing his cheek in greeting. Although it was hard to get out of a work-related event – and most people would rather not – she was well aware of someone’s personal preferences clashing with their wanting to make connections, or pleasing their superiors. “I haven’t seen you around the studio so much lately. Is post-prod treating you too roughly?” she inquired, eyebrows arching up slightly.

He hadn’t had anything better to do plus he’d heard there was going to be a s’mores station at this event. He’d yet to see a s’more but it wasn’t a half bad time. It was only made better by the sight of Peyton, her energy already elevating the party. “You know how it goes. The party don’t start ‘til I walk in.”

“They’re like, totes opposite of ‘what are those’. And, man, I love Etsy. Etsy’s just super… super wow.” And, because thankfully he wasn’t giving his brain enough time to process anything that came out of his mouth, it was easier to stop cringing with every single letter he spoke. His smile was still in place, a little bit giddy, definitely the kind of thing people would expect from season 2 Ryan. That is to say, the 15-year-old version of himself. “That’s amazing. I’m glad for you guys. Who doesn’t love superhero stories, right? Specially those that are well-written.” Which, went beyond his more than evident crush on said writer of superhero activities. “Life by Leah? We’re doing good. Great. Great cast, great vibes. Overheard some sort of rumor we might get a Rocky Horror Picture Show inspired episode one day which is, you know, slightly troubling. My sources remain tightlipped on the veracity of those rumors.”

Buzz stared at Dylan for a moment, confused by the word vomit that left him. Did he always speak that fast and he hadn’t noticed it? “Why would that be troubl- oh. Yeah, the little...” he trailed off, hands mimicking the shape of the short shorts Rocky wore in the movie while accidentally accentuating his crotch region.

“Well, maybe you can convince your writers to let you play Brad. You’ll still be in underwear at some point, though.” He offered, not sure if that helped the situation any. He doubted his writers would care, though. It was all about what would get the greatest buzz.

her usual lunch spot abandoned for one closer to the superhuman set, her eyes scanned the area from behind her favorite sunglasses. it was a terrible idea, trying to get noticed by another boy when she had someone else, but in her defense xander paid more attention to his camera than her; she had to get the attention somewhere. as she saw buzz walk past, she felt he breath catch in her throat. “hey –” she called out, realizing she hadn’t thought of what to do after getting his attention. “i, uh – my friend had to bail on lunch for a last minute wardrobe fitting. do you wanna join me? i hate eating alone.” // @buzz-davidson

Buzz stopped abruptly as she called out, stumbling back a step until he was in front of Zoey. It wasn’t too much of a surprise to see her over this side of the lot as she spent a lot of time with Riley but it was surprising to see her alone. He hadn’t planned on company for lunch, ‘Good Mythical Morning’ had started their summer programming and he’d planned to catch up during lunch. Looking down at the grease spotted paper bag in his hand he shrugged, “Sure. I didn’t have plans anyway.”

“do you ever ask yourself why you didn’t end up an astronaut?” roscoe asked, only half serious. “buzz is such an astronaut name. i mean, you got buzz aldrin, buzz lightyear; but hey, i guess if you think about it, you’re still surrounded by stars.” // @buzz-davidson

Buzz listened thoughtfully as he almost always did, leaning back in his chair in a way that would have gotten him admonished in school. “Well,” he started, “for starters I am absolutely terrified of heights. I would be unconscious before take off.”
