Someone found concept art. AKA more evidence of what the game was supposed to be. 

When I say “The Arbiter has a crush on the Master Chief” it is, first and foremost, very good and funny of me. But it’s also a shorthand for what I actually think.

The way the Master Chief exists holds meaning for Thel. Consider this weird alien dude coming in hot off discovering he has spent decades of his life fighting and striving for a lie that would kill everyone. He has been stripped of what gives him deeper purpose and had it replaced with raw survival.

Then there’s this green dude who has been fighting for his species’ survival the whole damn time. And this warrior has no expectation of glory, he just does it.

That’s purpose. That’s a kind of nobility. There is a beauty in that.

Thel’s world has come the fuck apart and he desperately wants to believe there is something with purpose he might be able to become, and the Master Chief is a symbol of part of that for him.
