deeply embarrasing but in middle school i was um... very very into twenty one pilots. now... i have been a hater for many years... but my sister and i decided it would be funny to do a tierlist of their songs (the ones that are relevant to me i wasn't a fan after trench) and try to be as unbiased and neutral as possible when ranking them and to be honest we did find some bangers we did. i hadn't listened to goner in years but ughhhh that one is actually fire (i really think the blurryface thing is so stupid and he does mention it in that song so it nerfs it a bit but it's so good overall i can let it slide)

but overall we decided that this man's undoing is his ego and also his apparent compulsion toward really cringily rapping/talking fast really really badly really awfully like he's constantly ruining songs that would have been pretty darn good if he just didn't do that (especially since he like makes several weird disrespectful allusions to rap/hip hop/black culture in his songs) (“this is not rap this is not hip hop / just another attempt to make the voices stop” is truly laughably awful and sort of representative of the type of dogshit we’re dealing with here). he just sounds cringe when he does it AND his lyrics are genuinely ass far more often than not so um that doesn't help things. ughhhhh bandito would genuinely be s tier if it wasn't fucking RUINEDDDD. SOMETIMES he has some interesting ideas... but even then they're not often executed well. HE ALWAYS NERFS SOMETHING GOOD. i also really really really hate it when he does the meta thing like don't talk about writing songs or poetry or rhyming jesus christ. it's so bad MAYBE IF HIS SONGS WERE OVERALL GOOD I'D GIVE HIM A PASS but when he refers to his own writing in his writing it really insists upon itself esp since most of the lyrics are juvenile and trite so it's like "oh yeah uh rhyming and sliming and crying and writing" SHUT UP. and yeah i'm not down with his christian stuff i think it's stupid i'll let a little reference to it slide if the song is good tho
