The newly minted eleven year old made dinner tonight. All her own invention. She’s taking a summer cooking class at school and their assignment was to make BBQ sauce. They got a base recipe and were asked to add other flavors to their liking. She did her experiments yesterday-she had four flavors: curry, honey mustard, garlic and smoky maple bourbon. We taste tested them all and she came to the conclusion that mixing the garlic and curry flavors together was the best. Today she marinated her meatballs in the sauce (cooked low in the crockpot), plus invented an Asian fried rice as a side dish (to pair with the curry in the bbq sauce).
