Sunburn (Rock Lee and Sakura)
cherried-blossoms:
With one hand over her eyes like a visor, Sakura looked out into the beach. It seemed she wasn’t the only one intent on soaking up the sun’s rays. How could she be? It was a beautiful day.
Content with the spot she’d chosen, Sakura sat her belongings in the shade of what appeared to be the only other available umbrella. Maybe today was her lucky day after all… Although… To be honest, she’d been waiting in the nearby convenience store for the couple who previously sat there to leave and when they had, that’s when the pinkette made her elegant entrance onto the beach– acting as casually as she could, although she wondered if anyone had seen her come out of her hiding spot.
Pulling a beach towel out of her bag, Sakura set it down just outside of the umbrella’s shadow before she unwrapped the red sarong she’d previously tied around her hips.
If she was going to attain any sort of color (apart from cherry red) on her pale skin, she’d have to load up on that tanning lotion.
… Not that this ever really worked for her… what was she thinking?
Hesitant, she pulled the bottle out of her bag and stared at it. She could see her bottle of sunscreen at the bottom of her bag now… It was taunting her and her gaze shifted from the tanning lotion in her hands to the sunscreen in her bag, until she caught sight of someone approaching her out of the corner of her eyes.
He looked… uncomfortable… but what really caught her wide, emerald gaze, were the thick eyebrows he sported. She just couldn’t… get her eyes… off of them…
“Uh…. Are you okay?”
“Oh no. What was the plan again? Why did I do this? Why did I think I could do this?” These were the thoughts that raced through Lee’s head has he panicked, still standing in front of this girl. Now the hot sun was not the only thing making him sweat. “Okay,” Lee thought. “Just try and be cool. Say something a cool person would say.”
He cleared his throat. “Hello, my name is Roc—” Suddenly, a wad of saliva got caught up in Lee’s throat. He began to cough uncontrollably. “My *cough cough* My name is *cough cough cough*” His coughing fit got so bad that he was bent over with his hands on his knees trying to catch his breath. “Okay, Lee, bad start, but you can still recover.”
Lee was low enough to have one hand on the ground trying to hold himself up. “My name is Rock L—” Before he could get it out, a gust of wind swept by and blew a bunch of sand right in Lee’s face. “My eyes!” He tried to contain himself, but he was taking a beating here. He fell prone. Never willing to accept defeat, Lee lifted his head one more time.
“My name is Rock Lee. Please… be my girlfriend…”
