          he decided to accept that answer, strange as it was to his mind. smoke had such a distinctly rancid smell to it, the stench every bit as bad as it was for one’s health. then again, people did seem to like surrounding themselves with it regardless-- maybe it just depended on one’s personal sense of smell.
