RevengeBorn TMNT AU
Summary: After the loss of his daughter and wife, Splinter swears revenge on the Shredder. He is given an opportunity when a mysterious ooze transforms him into a rat, along with 4 infant turtles. Blinded by his need for vengeance, he raises the turtles to be warriors to help him on his warpath.
This AU follows the teenaged turtles as they navigate their trauma and try to find meaning in their lives after both Shredder and Splinter are dead.
Trigger warnings: graphic descriptions of child abuse, suicide attempt, homophobia, self harm, mental health issues (I'll add more as I come across them)

Leonardo (He/Him):
Oldest and second strongest
Splinter's "perfect" son (is not perfect)
Keeps a ridged schedule
Works himself way too hard
Distant from his brothers but tries to do the right thing as their leader
Has an incredibly long list of issues, ignores them
Is usually very calm and collected on the outside, even when his brothers ignore him or yell at him
Repeats a lot of the things Splinter "taught" him, doesn't see anything wrong with this until he's older
Raphael (He/Him):
Second oldest and third strongest
Started calling Donnie his "twin" as a joke when they were kids
Angry at injustice and fiercely loyal to his siblings
Bisexual, attracted to people who are strong and kind
Has panic attacks but doesn't think they're panic attacks because they aren't like Donnie's
Has very little self confidence and a fear of looking weak
Donatello (He/Him):
Third oldest, and physically the weakest
Horrible anxiety, will throw up if there's too much pressure on him
Picks at his hands and will pick them until they're bleeding if he's not stopped
Demanded he and Raph switch days on who's the "oldest twin"
Chronically addicted to caffeine
Doesn't spend much time inventing or fixing things anymore, mostly spends time learning new things
Had a crush on April
Michaelangelo (He/She/They):
Youngest and strongest
Knows way too much
Plays up his helplessness and dumbness so much that it's his personality now, even though it's not true
Fed up with the secrets and fighting in his family, just wants everyone to talk and get along
Won't give up on Leo, ever
Somehow managed to be the most mentally sound
Splinter (He/Him):
Physically abusive, verbally abusive, emotionally abusive
Dead set on killing Shredder to the point he doesn't see the damage he's causing his turtle kids
Barely sees the turtles as his children, more sees them as warriors to train up and help him murder Shredder
Didn't think of what would happen to the turtles when his goals were met
Dead, got killed by the Shredder. Wompwomp
Casey Jones (He/Him):
Dealing with his own shitty life
"Lives" with his alcoholic father, but actually visits his house once a month or so to do laundry
High school drop out
Bisexual and loud about it
Banned from the lair (enforced first by Splinter, then by Leo), sneaks in anyway
Had a crush on April
April O'Neil (She/Her):
Initially friendly towards the turtles but things turned sour
No longer wants to be associated with them
Banned from the lair (enforced by Raph)
Living her life and getting good grades in school
Sometimes wonders how the turtles are doing
