On the 25th February this year I went through with the best decision of my life. After losing a total of 9st 7lbs I can honestly say that the two photos below are totally different people. The girl on the left was relatively quiet didn’t speak unless she was totally comfortable with the company and never ever wanted to draw attention to herself. Tried desperately to be liked everyone (didn’t always succeed because that’s life) but was massively introverted and nervous around most people. The girl on the right that I’ve transformed slowly into over the last 9 months is somebody else. There’s something to be said about the pure confidence in yourself. Not only about what you look like, but I’m also what you know you can achieve. In the last 2 years I’ve gotten a masters degree a well paid job, and lost nine and a half stone. I did that. That being said I couldn’t have done it without my friends and family around me and you all know exactly who you are. Momma, you have watched me through all of this and been there for me when I was throwing up everywhere and when I was so frustrated about only being able to have a mouthful of food when I was so so hungry ten minutes before with complete understanding and always being a realist keeping me focused on the end goal and pushing me to get the most out of myself. Not just for this, but for life as well. Charlie, I don’t even know where to start. Thank you for loving me the same from 12st to 19st back to 10st. I’ll never ever be able to fully show you my gratitude for that as long as I live. You’re honestly incredible and there’s no way I’d have been able to be as steady as I am without your support. Dad, the way you’ve adapted to this has been amazing and beyond my wildest dreams. And to the rest of my friends, I know exactly who you are now. The people who have held my hand through this with complete non-judgement and only been supportive in the choice I made for myself. I, again, cannot show my gratitude enough to you all.
