The pillows and sheets are sewn in raisin rye bread.

Your sugar-plum eyes garnish my face in beet red;

Your shredded wheat cereal hair hangs from your head.

Covers me—a vanilla pudding blanket dipped in marshmallow clouds,

Smeared in a thousand pounds of apple-butter jam—resounds

Each time you lay it over my body, so rigidly grips my shrouds,

Tearing them across doll valleys and black-star canyon grounds.

Drape me in your white nightgown; put my heart to rest.

Hide it from this plight world in your brick-oven chest.

Unfurl my hair; lay my head down your pearlescent breast.

You are the Swan Queen, and your heartfelt light has blessed

Street flowers, fairy moths, and two bunnies waltzing;

Your doe eyes turn graves to silver lockets and romancing.

Buildings that are now collapsing—you give them all one more granting.

Sleepy suburban homes, flowers lost amongst weeds enhancing.

You reside within ice cream parlors, hidden in a dream.

You are an April sweetheart, a never-ending milkshake stream,

A mermaid living under sweet bubble baths and warm milk cream,

The high-tower princess crowned in pearly gumballs under heaven’s beam.

Your spun-sugar strands are all around our kitchen stands;

You lay your fingers over sands and turn them all to candy lands,

And the softness of your hands, kindness over earth commands.

I have entered heaven though on earth; divine realm has set its start.

I have been given a new birth while holding close your gentle heart.
