A very rough draft because I'm facing the most exhausting days of my life. Trying to get my head together… Anyway...

This is the version with Yen, but talking to my friend @my-jokes-are-my-armour, we understood that it works with Geralt too.

Summary:

I have in my heart... that Jaskier is the type who will freely complain about silly things. But who... hides the serious ones so as not to worry anyone. The type who... makes fun of his own pain so it doesn't seem so serious. Someone who may seem cowardly at first glance, but who doesn't think twice to protect those he loves. Someone who runs away when he feels like crying. Because for Jaskier, he needs to always make people happy.

My prompt: AU - JASKIER ROCK SINGER and GERALT BODYGUARD - Geraskier - whump -

After Ciri loses her parents in a car accident, she soon moves in with her father's friend, Geralt, who starts taking care of her as his own daughter. But when Ciri becomes a teenager, the distance between them grows and Geralt tries to find ways to deal with his daughter, so he tries to understand what the girl likes. Geralt discovers that Ciri is in love with the band Dandelion and sees it as a great opportunity when the band's manager, Yennefer, his ex-girlfriend with whom he has an inconsistent relationship, asks him to work for her again, now as the bodyguard of the lead singer, Jaskier. Geralt doesn't like the singer and sees him as a bad influence on Ciri because of his black nails, sensual songs and clothes, but asks for an autograph in order to get closer to his daughter again.

From then on, the two begin to get closer, initially thanks to Ciri, who always pressures Geralt to meet the singer or even invite him to dinner. Due to their very different personalities, friction arises, but Geralt still doesn't know the reason behind Jaskier's need to have a bodyguard trusted by his manager.

His last bodyguard was bribed by Valdo, the former vocalist of the band that Jaskier replaced and who promises to do everything to destroy the singer without caring about the consequences.

In the midst of all this, with Jaskier's feelings for Geralt growing, initially as admiration for the protection that the bodyguard offers him, Geralt also begins to see more layers of Jaskier's personality, who behind all his daring performances hides a man who was never truly loved by his family, being only exploited for his musical talents.

Geralt will still face new nuances with his relationship with Yennefer, which will cause some situations with his new client, but how will he deal with all this when he finds out that Jaskier starts to have feelings for him? Or even that he has started to look at him differently? A relationship that will involve many differences and Geralt in denial of feelings because he cannot accept that he may have fallen in love with an idiot rock singer.

Will Geralt finally understand that he loves him and be able to protect him before it is too late for their relationship? Or even too late to prevent Valdo from finally destroying the one he has come to love?

Jaskier is far beyond what he thought, he smiles easily, but bears his own pain in silence...
