As I got older, I started to realize how toxic the aphmau fandom was. I genuinely think the major cause was fans wanting certain things and being upset that they didn't get it. As someone who wants to make stories, seeing the way the fans treated aph was just sad. Sometimes, you're not gonna like what the writer has written, and that's okay. It's just not your cup of tea. The shipping wars was just so toxic, even in media now when the mc doesn't get with the guy some of the audience wants they start to slut shame and say things like he deserves better when in reality he was straight up harassing her(this is not specific to the aphmau fandom). Or people expecting the characters to be like how they were in diaries( a good example of that is zane). Or they constant rumors and things people said about jess and Jason(like how Jason was jealous, which even when first heard it, I thought was so stupid). Basically it's okay to like ships like garrmau or larmau but the hate jess got for not making them Canon or the character assassinations in my street(which when you take time to look at how they treated her it was no different from diaries but that's not a conversation some of you are ready to have) was not okay, or when she addressed they allegations the Fandom put on Jason and people where worried about the other issues the Fandom had acting like those where more important when in realty accusing her husband of a literally crime it the one she wanted to address and WAY MORE important. Also, jess and Jason deserve a huge apology for the stuff this Fandom has put them through.
