Side tangent but this is why incest between the twins just Does Not Work Ever because their whole deal is getting thrashed by the world. The appeal to me especially is them being a safety net for eachother yk. Someone you can love so naturally despite everything. So simple! So easy! A best friend! Not that they can’t have a more unhealthy relationship in getting too codependent on each other (I am very picky about this flavor of dynamic though) but the second you introduce incest into the mix it falls apart. Completely. The lobster loses all butter. How are you supposed to root for these two picking up their pieces together when you make the relationship abusive at an inherent level. Because it is! It is! And there’s value in the horror in that but it’s not worth the cost of literally All! Of Their Character! And nobody wants the horror aspect either it’s all just fetish (There is a lot of overlap in fetish and “le problematic medias” that are actually meaningful art but that’s a longer more ranty discussion) but everyone knows that. It’s horror and tragedy esp for Claus T because he is abusing someone he clearly loved so dearly. It’s not just “one more taboo” okay it’s important to Claus’s character and his isolation and his Everything turn off the pornbrain please turn it off.
