Bullet Journals

Hi, I personally haven’t but I would think it would be okay for higher education. Maybe not High School as my teachers always liked us to write in school bought notepads. But it depends on what school you got too.

Hi, I currently use my bullet journal for list making since I finished Uni. I kind of use it for anything personal, such as list making, important dates such as doctors appointments, interviews etc. 

Hi, 100% up to you! It depend on what you feel most comfortable with. Personally, I would start a new journal as I would more able to be more creative with a new style of organisation.

Hi, firstly, bullet journals can be used for anything you want them to be used for, be it work, uni finances, list and note making (which is what I currently use it for) or anything else as needed.

For Uni, either a planner style bullet journal or your own freestyle bullet journal would both be good options. A planner style (eg) would be more practical and structured with each day already marked out, but would not give you any space to write big entries or make lists throughout. A freestyle bullet journal would be less structured and give you more space, but for Uni this may not be what we you want, depends on your personal style and how much you write!

Hi, I think it all depends on personal preference. I think if you were more into decorating and having an ‘aesthetic’ planner then plain would be a good option as you can draw and have space to arrange the page the way you want too.

Ruled, again, is another good option. As you can write more neatly along lines and would be good for a diary-style bullet journal.

Personally though I prefer a squared layout as it more neatly regulates your handwriting so if you have messy handwriting like me, it looks neater. Also, squared is really the ‘original’ format for bullet journaling and is handy if you want to make financial charts for money tracking, or calendars.

 Dotted is very similar to square and seems to be like a half-way house between plain and squared if you want a bit more stylistic freedom.

Hi, I personally use a moleskine. I’ve used it for about six months, although I’m taking a break from using it now. It’s probably the most used and popular notebook as a bullet journal, but I have found a few problems with it. I’ve found the binding to be pretty bad (ie loose, although this could be because i’ve stuck too many things in it) and the paper quality is quite poor (thin and the squares don’t line up very well with the page).

If I bought another notebook for bullet journaling I would consider a pukka pad, leuchtturm notebook, or a herlitz notebook. Hope this helps!

Hi, I think that’s one of the main problems of bullet journaling, as you are writing it step by step there is not really any set method for planning ahead. Personally I write down the date and the info for a future event on sticky note and then stick it on the page opposite my latest monthly calendar. Then when the appropriate month rolls around I write the event into that month’s calendar. Other people may use different methods though so I would check around and perhaps ask other bullet journal blogs.
