Your small collection of snacks in the sad excuse of a kitchen you all share disappear more regularly than not, never from malice, but from a genuine inability to conceive that something might not be meant for him. Satoru replaces them threefold, brands you've never heard of, price tags that make you wince. Teas for Suguru that sound like something only royalty drink. Cookies so elegant they deserve to be framed rather than enjoyed. Satoru's apologies come wrapped in excess of gifts, which is the only language of apology he's ever known, ever comfortable in sharing. Because it is easier to provide something physically than words that can be misconstrued with the slip of the tongue.

Satoru collapses in the common area at three am, sprawled across the couch in a way that is borderline elegant in a roundabout way that Satoru always carries. "My bed's too far," he mumbles, though it's quite literally down the hall. The truth, unspoken, he doesn't like the quiet of his own room. Here, with the ambient sounds of other people breathing, existing in normal routines, he can finally rest.

Vegetables that haven't come from a can, rice that isn't instant, ramen that is somehow not from a dollar pack (which Satoru find delicious in a "gross" way as he puts it. "I made extra" is his usually excuse, but you've noticed he always makes exactly enough for three. His care comes disguised as practicality, to call it what it is, tenderness, would embarrass you both. So it stays practical rather than anything more.

You catch a cold (horrible really, you hate getting sick). Wake up to find Suguru has already made soup; not from a can, somehow actual soup, with ginger and things that required effort rather than ease. Satoru appears with a mountain of convenience store medicine, half of which treats symptoms you don't even have. "I didn't know which one, so I got all of them." (Some of these are creams for rashes you have never even heard of.) They both hover, awkward. You're too feverish to hide your smile.

Nerd Suguru who is super into obscure topics, some kind of philosophical ideas that you've never heard of, and Satoru just kinda blinks at. You get Suguru on one of those days he's read over some article about something like the philosophy of Pythagoreanism. He's explaining how interesting it is that parts of math came from that area of thought. Satoru and you just nod along, perhaps not fully following all of it, but it is less about following and more listening how his tone changes. How he gestures with his hands when explaining something more in detail. How his eyes wander upwards when thinking, before his eyes flick back to you and Satoru, continuing when he sees you two nod. It is more about his expression.

Nerd Suguru who's hand written notes are something out of some kind of aesthetic study vlog page. You swear he got to have one that you don't know of. Satoru fully agrees with you, but so far neither of you have found any proof.

-> When he's holding something a mug, phone, book, or even the hand of someone's, Suguru absentmindedly rubs little circles with his thumb. Usually it's for no apprant reason, usually when he is thinking. At times, however, it's completely on purpose, but more so a way he half comforts himself.

-> When a hint stressed of overwhelmed, he runs his fingers from forehead to crown even when not a hair is out of place.

-> Instead of laughing right away, Suguru lets out a quiet hum or puff of air through his nose, corners of his mouth curling before the actual laugh comes spilling out.

-> When entering a room or area, unlike Satoru who tends to scan the space as a whole, Suguru's eyes finds faces first before going elsewhere. An instinct of his to read moods before interacting with the people or place.

-> When Satoru, or you are speaking to him, Suguru ever so slightly leans toward the other person. Not his full weight, but an ever so subtle tilt, a way you can tell his attention, even if his eyes are elsewhere, is fully on who is speaking. If you and Satoru are speaking, he tends to always look as well, before Satoru to you and back again.

-> Kinda a random one that came to mind, but Suguru is so the type to organize parts of rooms when on a phone call. He's in the kitchen? The counters get wiped. He's in Satoru's room? Satoru's whole desk gets straightened out. He just needs to do something small, not because he is thinking about chores, just more just the need to keep his hands occupied.
