Wood is transformed into plywood through a process called lamination. In simple terms, plywood is made by gluing together layers of wood veneer, with the grain of each layer perpendicular to the adjacent ones. This cross-graining gives plywood its strength and stability.

Here's a basic overview of the plywood manufacturing process:

Log Selection: Quality plywood starts with the careful selection of logs. Different types of wood can be used, and the choice depends on the desired characteristics of the final product.

Peeling and Cutting Veneer: The selected logs are peeled to create thin sheets of wood veneer. These sheets are then cut into the desired size.

Drying: The veneer sheets are dried to remove moisture, ensuring stability in the final product.

Gluing: The dried veneer sheets are coated with adhesive. This adhesive can vary, but it's crucial for bonding the layers together. Phenol formaldehyde and urea formaldehyde are common types of adhesives used.

Laying and Pressing: The veneer sheets are then layered with the grain direction alternating. This layering is what gives plywood its strength. The layered sheets are pressed together under high pressure and heat to form a strong bond.

Trimming and Sanding: Once the layers are bonded, the plywood sheets are trimmed to the desired size and sanded for a smooth finish.
