lore of microplasticsong: hallownest is a tiny little town in the middle of nowhere and pharloom is like a City city. the citadel is a big factory thats poisoning the rest of the city with microplastics. hornet used to live in tiny hallownest but her entire family died so she moved to big pharloom where her mom was born. shes trying to uncover the truth of the microplastics and get the factory shut down. also lace was made in the factory and is like a beanie baby person

i want hornet to get injured at the syart of microplasticsong like she does normally but theres not much.of.a reason for her to fall from really big heigjt so i think she just crashes the vehicle shes driving at the beginning. and she has to replace thst one with a new truck which is what the bell beast is now

so the original lore of selkiebugs: the hollow knight half of it was that the pale king had passed on selkie abilities to his children and some of his followers because he had the whole skin shedding thing going on but i think to incorporate silksong i'll make it so that all pale beings have this quality

so the weavers/pharloom also have selkies because of granny silk. silk selkies. silkies

and i think for lace... probably not a selkie but a natural shapeshifter. a lot of imposed restriction on what forms she can take though. or maybe something weirder like a pelt with nobody under it?? much to think about
