It took an entire three days but Hiro finally managed to get his dorm set up properly, he wasnât used to having to keep all of his equipment in one location. The smaller stuff, like microchips and various other robot parts were usually in his room where as the 3D Printer and monitors usually stayed in the garage. Now, his desk was pressed up against the far wall, his bed by the window, with various pieces of tech placed haphazardly throughout the room. Baymaxâs charging station was placed in the small closet, which Hiro made sure to measure before hand to check and see if the balloon-bots girth would fit in it.Â
Baymax was fully charged though and wandering about the room, making note of where Hiro had placed his things. Hiro was at the computer, lazily sipping an energy drink through a straw and checking online forums for local bot fights. It was mostly a quiet evening, until Baymax found the hatâ Tadashiâs hat, which Hiro had shoved into the drawer of his nightstand because seeing it made him sick to his stomach.
âTadashiâŚâ The robot murmured, picking up the hat and holding it as if it were a baby.Â
Hiro swiveled in his desk chair and pulled off his headphones, his eyes falling to the baseball cap. âBaymax, put that backâŚâ
Baymaxâs black eyes blinked at Hiro and then blinked down at the hat, staring at it for a long time, as if trying to process some new information before he repeated, "Tadashi."
Now, getting frustrated, Hiro stood up and charged the robot, forcefully taking the hat from him and shoving it back in the drawer. âBaymax, for the last time, Tadashi is gone. I just need a little more time to come to terms with it, alright?â
It was a cruel irony, honestly. The robot that his dead brother programmed to understand human health needs, couldnât process the fact that itâs creator had died in a fire over two months ago. Every time Baymax saw a picture or an article of clothing that he recognized to be Tadashiâs, heâd blank and repeat:Â âTadashi is hââ
However, before Baymax could utter the phrase Hiro hated to hear, there was a knock at his dorm room door.Â
âBaymax, Iâm satisfied with my care!â Hiro muttered, slamming the nightstand drawer shut as he made his way over to the door, and Baymax dutifully waddled over to his charging station, where he deflated and folded up into the red metal box.Â
âOhâ Uh, hey there!â Hiro twisted the handled and opened the door, awkwardly smiling at his visitor. âLook, not to sound rude but this is kind of a bad timeâŚâ
