I've been working super hard recently, almost to the point of burning myself out on all the stuff I need to get done. I've put out a picture book and hurrying to finish up a young YA before a signing event in late September. In the midst of all this, I've lost the time to draw stuff for myself. Feeling depressed tonight, I put aside the stuff I was supposed to be working on for tomorrow and doodled this. It's not anything challenging or groundbreaking, it doesn't have a story behind it, it just made me happy.

Most of you know he has been on Broadway and on National Tours for quite some time, with his latest appearance in Mrs. Doubtfire being pushed to December 2021 as opening their night, let’s take a walk through memory lane!

NOTE: Rob has done amazing things for social issues and has been one of the front runners to make Theatre a less biased and prejudiced place for POC Performers to belong to. That one conductor cam in the middle of the BLM movement was SO GOOD. We truly appreciate this man and hopefully he doesn’t stop and continues being one of the leading voices to help broadway be a better place.

Avenue Q

Rob took many roles when he was in Avenue Q, he has been on the National Tour and ended up on Broadway as a replacement! Though today, some content in Avenue Q is a bit taboo (well even back then it was taboo) that musical is full of satire and dark comedic jabs at society and other issues that makes it such a laugh. If you do love Beetlejuice, Avenue Q is a musical for you.

Chaplin

Eventually Rob took up the mantle as Charlie Chaplin. A Bio-Pic/Musical, it goes through the life of the legendary silent film actor, Charlie Chaplin. This role gave McClure a Tony Nomination for Best Actor in a Musical. If you are a Chaplin fan, what some footage that I did manage to find, is pretty darn accurate to their source material. Soundtrack isn’t that bad but I see why it only had a one year run on Broadway due to its niche.

Something Rotten

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this role and the musical! Shakespeare is one of my LEAST favourite things to study and the God I Hate Shakespeare number is by far my favourite above It’s Hard To Be The Bard. Rob definitely gave the character a newfound passion and found love in this production. He was in both the Broadway and National Tour runs. And I know that listening to the Album is extremely annoying, but I’m serious about this one.. GO LISTEN TO SOMETHING ROTTEN.

Beetlejuice

ADAAAAAAAAAM! Rob originally portrayed Adam Maitland in the National Theatre run of Beetlejuice, though the focus of the musical differs from the film, it was still a huge success! We surely did miss him that he moved on to another project but we wished him the best of luck and love him so much🧡💚🤍🖤.

Mrs. Doubtfire

Finally; Mrs. Doubtfire! Rob departed from Beetlejuice to star as the titular Nanny in this Musical version of Robin William’s beloved film of the same name. We have no idea what is in store for us, but we have seen from his Instagram and the Mrs. Doubtfire Instagram, it’s going to be hilarious. When it eventually does finish its previews, I’m definitely watching!
