The Godmother

I can pinpoint the exact moment I turned on libfems. I can remember my facial expression and everything. Hell, I even remember which hoodie I was wearing.
A video was created on TikTok by a tra saying that women don't get killed for just being women.
So I stitched the video detailing 3 prominent femicide cases in the UK. I wasn't even necessarily angry or nasty about it. I was ruffled at most.
My comments - within minutes - were flooded with people calling me transphobic. I had deliberately and maliciously misinterpreted the initial video. How dare I speak over a trans woman?!
I deleted the video out of fear.
I went through many stages of grief as I processed the response to this video. Guilt at being perceived as transphobic. Upset that I hadn't gotten my point across the way I wanted to.
And then pissed off that I got tone policed when I brought up femicide.
So tras, if you ever find yourself wondering why people like me do not like people like you, this is why.
Women are being spoken over when they speak about sex based violence and oppression and policed to be "inclusive" when sex based violence will never affect trans women in the same way as biological women.
I had to go hunt through the reblogs to find the original post not being hounded by radfem and trans misogynist replies.
I’ve been a vocal advocate of trans/lgbtq+ rights since I joined social media back in 2011. It’s no surprise that I don’t give af how people identify but unfortunately over the years I find myself agreeing more with these posts.
The trans fem community goes through a lot of abuse, many of it shares the same misogynistic roots that bio fems go through. BUT! Trans fems will NEVER understand the true weight that that bares and as the years go on I keep seeing more trans fems claiming they do. The trans community in general has been ostracized to hell and back, we all know this, it’s not like it’s ever been hidden. However we will never actually grow or be taken seriously if we ignore the fundamental differences in our upbringing.
Trans men have a closer understanding to bio female struggles than a trans woman. Nothing transphobic, nothing hateful, it’s a fact. That doesn’t erase that trans fem and bio fems both struggle with conforming to a misogynist society but there is a massive difference in how both are affected. There’s an epidemic of arrogance in the lgbtq+ community right now that is directly causing everything that our queer elders fought for to be a joke and it stems in the fact that social media bound trans folk are demanding too much while ignoring history.
Edit: Trans females have their own share of sexual abuse that can be equated to the abuse that biological females go through, yes. However they are different. Dramatically different. People born with a uterus are raised from the moment they pop out that they are nothing but sex objects. Ostracized about our clothes, makeup, how we cook, how we clean, how young we are..all rooted in our sex and how bio men can utilize it.
The abortion laws and medical abuse that is being supported by the American government, especially now, isn’t directed towards trans women. It’s directed towards the uterus. If anything the trans fem community should be focusing less on “we want 100% inclusivity” that is built on their misogynistic upbringings and actually spend their energy to support their bio sisters and their different but connecting struggles.

A knight in armor kissing a nun under the mistletoe, 1926
Wanna see how many times you can cum inside me before it starts leaking out? Sorry uhh I meant... Wanna marathon horror movies with me?
i am sorry, mama. i know you did your best but i turned out wrong. i only ever sharpen my teeth on my own legs. i can't hunt and every song in my chest sounds more like a siren call. i tremble at every loud noise. i fear i am unlovable. you used to tell me to bark back and bite hard. i let every hand muzzle me and consider it gentle. touchstarved. i'm sorry. you wanted to raise a wolf but i am just a bad dog.
