The Doctor is in!

“Well, hello there little one!” He seems to be talking with a Caterpie while a Joltik sits atop his head and watches.

He seems uninterested to this question, choosing to light a cigarette rather than answer initially. “Does it matter? I’m not really sure, to be honest with you. I like who I like with no regards to what they identify as. Though it takes a while for me to develop said feelings.”

“I actually do have a Golisopod named Reginald! He was my first catch here in Alola. Poor little guy was left on his own, clearly bred, so I took him in. My other pokemon helped convince him to join us. He’s gotten so big~”

“You’re sweet. My name is Max and I came to Alola to study the insects of this region. As well as provide medical assistance to those in need.”

“Oh, hello! Is there something I can do for you?”

“You as well.” He takes the pixie stick from where it had fallen on his desk and eats it slowly as he works. “He’s a strange one, but it’s refreshing...”

He’s currently having a cigarette and looking over many papers strewn around him. A cup of coffee, no doubt cold at this point, sits off to his left and he mumbles quietly to himself about the various topics he is both reading and writing about. “Oh, there’s the documentation of Ariados venom, good... Oh, and there’s the formula for that... I really should finish developing that...”

“Well, yes in a sense. I’m not necessarily paid for it, but I do help provide information on various bug-types through my studies. Though I doubt you would know me by name. I share my information freely and without the expectation to be credited. I merely do it because I enjoy it.” He considers her question for a moment. “Need helP? No, not really. I am capable on my own, though if you wish to accompany me I won’t turn you down. Company is always welcome.”

“That would be nice, but not entirely necessary. I’m here to study the bug types of this region, so I have no need to be anywhere but out here. Though, if you need to go somewhere specific I can accompany you until you get there. After that, I really must get back to my work.”

“No idea at all! I’m new to this region. The most I can offer is Alola.” He smiles, not remotely bothered by the fact that he’s lost as well. If all else failed, he could hop on his Yanmega and fly out of here, but he liked wandering around. “Sorry I can’t be of any more help.” He blows out a small plume of smoke.

He lights a cigarette and takes a long drag. “Why did it never pan out?” He sighed. “Because they felt I always prioritized my work over them. When they knew who I was when they got into the relationship with me.” He shrugged. “No sense in dwelling on it, and no you don’t need to hurt anyone. They are long gone by now. I wouldn’t even know where to find them anymore.”

He composes himself for a moment. “I have been in love a couple times in my life. It never panned out, but that is the best way I can describe the feeling I get.”
