Sorry it took longer than expected, but as I mentioned in my birthday post back in March, I'm finally ready to reveal the big SxF project I've been working on for the past half a year or so: my first fanfic, titled "A Spy's Respite" 🙂

The talented @buf309-art-binder has been gracious enough to provide illustrations for my fic, including the cover art on this post, as well as a few comic pages that I'll show later on.

I've never been much of a fanfic writer or reader (essay and analysis writing is more of my thing), but occasionally I get motivation to write out stories and scenarios from my head, especially for things I'm really passionate about, like SxF! I've had many ideas for SxF stories over the years, but I decided to go with a relatively straightforward Twiyor "identity reveal" story for this fic.

To ensure Buf and I have enough time to finish working on our parts, I'm going to release the three acts of the fic with a few months in between (my regular posts will continue throughout). As of now, the tentative timeline is...

-Late Jul/early Aug

-Late Sep/Early Oct

-Mid/Late Nov

Act 3

Afterword

The releases might happen a bit sooner or later depending on how busy we get, but my goal is to have the complete story released before the end of the year. I plan to post the first release, (which includes the preface, prologue, and act 1) sometime in late July/early August. When that happens, I'll make another announcement post here on Tumblr, with links to read it on Ao3 and Fanfiction.net.

I'm really excited to finally share my story~ ❤️That's all I'll say about it for now 😉

[Doppelganger] progress update (5)

When I was working, I always went by the critical trick of "Eh? If it looks understandable, it's good enough 🤷". But now, I'm on break and have more time to spare, I fall back to my worst habit of overthinking EVERYTHING 🤡

3 weeks and I've only done with lineart for 12/14 pages for chapter 4, because nothing looks good enough 🤡

At this rate, I might not even finish this one before I have to get back to work. And I have a few more SxF projects to do before next month. So... I think... to hell with it, I'll just self-appoint a deadline to kick start the old work process then.

Thus, I here by announce that Doppelganger chapter 4 is going to be released this Sunday, Jan 25th 👍 I sure hope so.

Hi hi! I left the rant about philtrum lengths. lol I was wondering, do you take commissions? As a fellow artist, I 100% understand if that's not your cup of tea. It's not for everyone.

To answer your question, I don't do commissions for fanwork, because it would feel too close to my real job for my comfort.

Yeah, I work as a freelance illustrator, doing customize drawing gigs for real life clients. A hassle to deal with on daily basis.

Personally, drawing fanwork for SxF is how I unwind, and in some respects, an easy outlet to maintain my creativeness and whimsiness. That's why I don't want to complicate things by getting money involved. I'm afraid that it won't spark joy anymore, and become just another stressful side gig instead 😅

That said, I don't mind doing an art collab or art exchange though. If you manage to catch the musebunny's attention, then I'm all game.
